Nice post -you are so right. We plant seeds which then becomes habits. When watered they grow and become our character. Good and bad.
I try to be aware of my own habits so that the negative ones do not become my new character - my new way of being. Some slip though - I am human / but I remain aware - the first step to changing things. All the negative traits you mentioned above are not good for me or anyone else.
