Where we left off
Well from the looks of things I've gotten a little attention in the advice section so we'll start with: Why certain oil is potentially damaging your engine,
and why,
flushing your engine is so important.
Most engine oil have a certain amount of detergent in them. Some more some less, which is where the problem starts. Lower grade oils like super tech, Pennzoil, Quaker State, and even caster oil do not have a detergent level strong enough to not only fight against normal carbon build-up but also fight against it's own breakdown particles. So the existing sludge/debris ends up hanging to anything it can causing drag in your engine. Not only that but it also restricts oil supply!

I could go on about more but I'm trying to keep my post compacted and to my point as best as possible.

Changing brands

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
Although after reading this you may want to upgrade your oil to a more preferred brand.
Hold on! * NOT SO FAST* this is why flushing the engine is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Switching to a better quality oil is good, provided it's done properly. Sometimes an engine is so bad with sludge that flushing an switching can still cause severe engine damage. That's why it's important to flush the engine continue another service interval with your original oil, then flush again then jump ship to a preferred brand. Keep in mind the brand chosen has to be compatible with the vehicle. For instance: All GM vehicles I believe 2007 an newer require dexos approved oil. If it's not in it and your engine failed they will use a litness test to verify oil, if it doesn't pass NO WARRANTY will be covered.
Here's some engine maintenance examples

This engine has over 299,000+ miles with proper maintenance.

This engine has 158,000+/- miles with a poor grade oil.

This engine is new! 0 miles

Thank you sir

I learned something today. It's not good to switch oils after the first flush. It makes sense.

That's right! I've seen all to many problems before I figured it out. Hope I've saved someone else from the same mistake. Glad to have helped.
