হজরত উমর (রা) ছিলেন তাকওয়া ও পরহেজগারীর মূর্ত প্রতীক। তাবেঈনরা তার কাছ থেকে তাকওয়া ও পরহেজগারী শিখার জন্য তার দরবারে মাসের পর মাস পরে থাকতেন। উনি খুব সুক্ষ ব্যাপারেও পরহেজ করতেন। তার ইসলাম কবুল ছিল ইসলামের উন্নতি, তার হিজরত ছিল মুসলমানের সাহায্য, তার খেলাফত ছিল মুসলমানের জন্য রহমত। তিনি যতদিন জীবিত ছিলেন মুনাফিকরা ইসলামের কোনো ক্ষতি করতে পারে নি আল্লাহের রহমতে। তার শাহাদাৎ মুসলমানের জন্য বিপর্যয় তার কবর মদিনায় নবীর রওজার পাশে আল্লাহ তাকে জাজাহ খায়ের দান করুন।
