Nothing is wrong with Feminism but the explorers of this feministic space

These days alot of people, both men and women perceive women who tag themselves as feminists to be men-haters. Vices such as pride, being disrectful and stubborness are associated with such women.

You hear talks like "This women are at it again" and you hear women say or mothers say to their daughters "Don't be a feminist"

Why? Because feminism as an island meant to flow with milk and greenries has been invaded by corrosive subtances.

Truth is, alot of people form their ideas of feminism from hearsays. They draw conclusions from dirty practicals rather than theories.

The idea of feminism has become diluted by the society itself and alot of people do not exactly know what this fight is about.

Every woman is a breed of feminism bringing about different shapes, sizes, goals and motives. Feminism is a thing, a standard, a model, a space and women put it to use the way they want, either negatively or positively.

There is nothing wrong with feminism but rather the women who explore these theories.

There are so many things surrounding feminism but of all, individual experiences plays a great role. Every woman displays her own feminism based on her experiences and her goals.

The idea of Feminism grew up from the west and this could be traced to the first wave feminism.

It was easy for blacks to relate to the issue of feminism because black women also suffered being relegated to the background.

However, it should be known that the Idea of the white woman standing up for herself was also present in African societies. However, with the entry of education, modernism, and migration. This form of movement became more spelt, more pronounced and more solidified.

What gave rise to feminist movement?

Black feminism came up as a retaliation to the unfair treatment and seconding of women in the society.

The society; it's believes, cultures, values and norms has been a mode of oppression and exploitation for the female gender.

The society makes certain constructions for women, women must live up to this expectation else they would be seen as fallen women. The society also constructs a man's life for him and many men have voiced out against this system of oppression but Feminism is for women affairs.

However, most people have gotten it all mixed up when they hear the word "Gender equality"

All it means is Give a woman the opportunities accorded to men too. It's a cry for a fair and just treatment and an end to practices that oppress women.

But you hear alot of people give funny definitions of "gender equality" You hear some say "Then let a woman impregnate herself by herself" or "Let women perform men jobs then since you think the gender is equal"

Feminism is not a cry that women and men should begin to perform the same functions.

Men and women will still play their diverse roles in the societies but the woman shouldnt be relegated to the background. She shouldn't me the "other". Her voice deserves to be heard unlike times past.

The feminism I know about is the one that seeks an end to the oppression and discrimination women go through in the hands of the society and by society I mean men and women.
