Success is one term/feat everyone wants to achieve, but happens to be impossible, because it would disrupt the balance of life.
SUCCESS: favorable or desired outcome; also, the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence.
Most, probably just think success is measured by wealth, position, power and influence, they are not far from it though.
A man has the resources to buy the latest collection of properties, should he be tagged successful?
A man is in a position to that most crave and worship, should he be tagged successful?
A man has the authority to do as he so wills, without been questioned, should he be tagged successful?
A man is influential in the society. People value his opinion, should he be tagged successful?
The answer to all these is given, when a man uses all or either of the aforementioned attributes to impact positively on others.
So, yes to a man who uses his wealth to improve the welfare of others around him.
Yes to a man who uses his position in the society to help others attain similar feat.
Yea to a man who uses his authority to declare justice and promote peace in the society.
Yes to a man who uses his influence to dispute disaccord and elevate others worthy of achieving something too.
A successful man, is determined by the number of people he helped become something in life.

Success is only for someone who has eagerness. If there is no willingness so that the word "success" can not be gained by him/hers
Success is not by the gold you have amassed, but the number of people who have become golden through your influence in their lives.

Successful is a difficult term to define. However, I would go with the definition of being able to take care of his own family and his kids' future.
