Urban Bourbon Boogie Beers!

The end... the end is nigh!!

Not the end of the world, silly. Oh no, the end of the year swiftly approaches. This will be the last beer review of 2019. I almost feel sad!

Don't worry though, not that sad. I chose a Hong Kong donkey of a pair of beers this week.

Two Stout's romping in at double figure percentages!!

Well. I am by the looks of it. Don't know about the rest of you.

It's not often that 2020 rolls round. The last time, I think must have been about twenty past eight last night...

Boom boom!!

Ah. Sorry about that. So, where was I, ah yes! I was about to mark the turning of the year with a fine pair of dandy beers.

Let's get started then!!

Looks like we will be catching the Red-eye tonight! Another beer from my favourite brewery and a pulsingly strong one at that.

It's technically marketed as a Mocha Porter but then also described as an Imperial Stout? Hmm, don't know what's happening there.

The whatever it actually is, has been mixed with cacao nibs and roasted Sumatran coffee beans before being left to age for 9 months in some ever so cheeky bourbon barrels.

As if that wasn't enough, it was then further conditioned with a second dose of coffee.

All in all, turbo boosting it to a massive 12% ABV.

Goodness, who would be mad enough to tackle this big beast?

Oho! Look at that, it's blacker than the screen of a broken iPhone 6. It's glossy and black, like the feet of a shy badger.

Oh man alive, this thing is powerful to the point of being brutal. In an amazing way, of course. I suspect that only big Scotsmen, with thighs of Oak could cope with it's magnificence.

It's strong, mental with both the coffee and the Bourbon. In my book that is a double dunk, 10/10 booms!!

Ooft!! Time to move on to the next, if my body can take it!!

Who would dare milk a dragon? That's the first question on my lips. I can only hope that is from a female dragon and not as @gikitiki intimated in my comments yesterday!

The blurb on the site claims that in the olde times The knight’s reward for slaying a dragon was the treasured “milk of the dragon.”

Hmm. Least said the better. It promises to be sumptuous with vanilla and oak.

Sounds flipping magic to me.

It's nice to see a little foamy head. Granted, it fades quickly but the last one had zilch. It looks ever so slightly paler too.

Let me put my mouth to the dragons teat!!!

It's nice. It's really nice. Despite it being 11% you would think it pleasant enough to partake of many on a night.

I was kinda hoping for more fierce dragon and less pleasant Betty. The Bourbon is very mild, like a whimsical afterthought. Regretfully, I will award 8/10 booms.
