Honking Geese, Beards & Wise Guy Beers!!
Beer Saturday!! Oh it comes round so fast!!
After last night's beer extravaganza I thought I might be too poorly for beer-festing it tonight. Fortunately my doughty Scottish genes kicked in and I am ready to go!! What do we have?
A fine Scottish beer, the Weize Guy red wheat beer.
This is a lovely one and no mistake. Cloudy and red and very reminiscent of some good Munich beers I have had. There is a fruitiness to it that really appeals. Cor, I am glad I found this one!! Next!!
Hopopotamus, this is a cracker. I found it hard not to pick it up when I saw the bottle. Check that design!!
That's right, a hippo with a beer barrel for a body. Sometimes when I am at my winter weight, that's how I feel!
It's an incredibly summery ale. Light gold in colour and citrus-y in taste. It makes me feel all outdoors'y!! Well you know what they say... When in Rome!!
Ah you can't beat a run about the garden with a beer in hand. Next time I will wear my trousers.
Next up is.
Those damned geese!! Will they never let me be!! It seems that my destiny is inexplicably intertwined with these varmints. Let us see if they let me down.
It's from Chicago. That must mean something.
Hmm, it's a good beer. Like an English bitter. It's definitely not what I was expecting from the name. Which was some kind of bird attack. It's really good. Gorgeous amber gold colour and with a mildly citrus finish. I will be going back to buy more of these!

Look at the beard on that one, Raz will be proud! It has a fascinating blurb on the can too.

Let's see how it pours. Oh, I know, pour it against the side of the glass. I am an old hand remember? But when you are doing a gif it has to be one handed!
Look at the control, still a fantastic head! Again a lovely beer. This one is light, smooth and fluffy and makes me want to swig it all down in a one'r. Flip flappity, more please!!
Not a bad one this week. I think it a close call for the winner. Damn, I can't call it. It's a tie between Honking Goose and the beard of the black sheep.
I was spoiled for choice with good beers this week, it's not always so easy!
Well now I have found a second wind, I am off to get honking. Have a great weekend everyone and do yourself a favour... Crack open one and join me!!

I heard Belgium has hundreds of beer. It seems UK does not lack the variety too.
UK is seriously starting to catch up on everywhere and it wasnt too far behind to start with. It's great!
You need to try Erdinger from Germany, Zywiec (or Zubr) from Poland and Xing from (Brasil/Barbedos...I'm always forgetting from which country it is)! Thanks for sharing tho I will try to find those guys next time in Total Wine or Beer World ;)
I have tried both Erdinger and Zywiec! Very good beers. I will keep an eye out for Xing!
Zywiec is ok but I meant ZUBR it's hard to get it but it's awesome! :)

I used to live right next to the Goose Island Brewery, Honkers Ale is good, but I wish you could try some of their in house only beers...some of the best I have ever had! If you make it to Chicago, and can get to the brewery on a Thursday the brewmaster comes out and gives everyone a glass of the newest brew!
That sounds amazing!! I would love to visit Chicago. It's one of my places to visit!
Chicago is fantastic. Definitely come during the summer though, I wouldn't want your first impression of the city to be the terrible dreary winters we have...although good beers seem to have a way of cheering up even the coldest days!
Dreary winters would remind me of home! Summer it is. I definitely intend to at some point!
