Are you aware which part of the brain is stimulated most when watching the mainstream media?

The reptilian brain, or what I like to call the instinctual brain, governs the animalistic component of our behavior: fight or flight, survival, food, sex etc. The limbic brain is responsible for governing our emotions: fear, happiness, sadness, guilt, shame, joy etc. And then there is the neo-cortex, the commander-in-chief of the human brain. The neo-cortex allows us to think critically and rationally, it is responsible for higher-order thinking and is what separates us from the animal kingdom, which is governed largely by instinct and emotion.

So, back to the question, which part of the brain do you think this headline - "TERROR ATTACK IN NEW YORK, BUSH DECLARES WAR ON AFGHANISTAN!" - stimulates? Is it the neo-cortex? Is the media encouraging critical thought when it uses sensationalism in virtually all of its political headlines and stories?

No, the mainstream media activates only the limbic and reptilian centres of the brain, and for good reason. The ruling class does not want a populace that is able to engage its neo-cortex to think critically and rationally about unfolding events in the geo-political sphere. They want the masses to blindly accept and support whatever they are told to accept and support, whether it be "the war on terror," "the war on drugs," or some other nefarious political agenda of their concoction. They use clever buzzwords and phrases - 'TERROR,' 'EXTREMISM,' 'GUN NUT,' 'BREXIT CHAOS!' - to trigger specific fear-based emotional reactions in their unwitting audience.

Human beings are much more suggestible and easier to control when they are kept in low-vibrational states of consciousness, and that's exactly what the mainstream media is designed to do: To keep you in a state of FEAR, so that you go along with whatever BULLSHIT the government has planned next.

Stay woke, y'all, and remember, THINK before you REACT.

Sort:

I'd be really interested in studies showing what brainwaves are stimulated when watching the news and consuming media.

Maybe have a group reading classical literature to compare the differences?

I read a while back that watching TV stimulates theta brainwaves, which are largely associated with hypnosis.

I may do a separate post on this.

Thanks for reading and commenting.
