Thought of the Day: February 19, 2018 - Now or Never
Do you agree with the statement that life is truly about living it now or never?
In each moment do your best to be in the present moment. When you do you life in the now and never forget to appreciate what you are the witness to.
Every time you take a positive action, you create a better future for yourself and others. The future has not happened yet and many factors can still change that future that is to come, not matter how hard you are working to create it.
The past has already happened. It has shaped this moment. If you work in the present moment and do your best you will give yourself the opportunity to succeed in the now.
You must remember that each step you take in the now will take you towards a future that is what you want but because billions of things are happening at the same time, many times this future is not the one you pictured. It is better!
Remember to be present and focus on creating a better today in the hopes you can have a better future. It really does come down to doing it now or never...
I lurch between being lost in the unattained future, and remembering that I'm in the present. It's so easy to forget that the future I'm always thinking about, planning for, strategizing to, will never come if all I do is think about it!
I actually just read "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield who does such a good job of identifying that amorphous thing that always prevents me from doing.
He calls it The Resistance. Just having it named has done a lot in helping me recognize when I'm not living in the now.
I heard it on Joe Rogan's episode with Jocko Willink here... really good stuff!
I'm glad @distilltionsbl that you have come to this realization. For many it takes a life time changing what they want rather than going out and getting what they want. But we must know that even when we want something it is different at the end of the path
It was become what it needs to be rather than what we wanted.
I have not read the book The War of Art but have heard of it. I will pick it up or check it out on audio.
