Turn your pain into wisdom
When we lose or are about to lose a very precious person to us, the hurt can be intense. Pain and unanswered questions haunt us. We even feel that we will never be the same again. We just feel pain and at times in our life a lot of pain that we thought we could imagine how much this would hurt, but we were wrong.
Many talk about how beautiful love is, but that’s the point. Love hurts. People learn that pain is sometime dangerous. How can they handle love if they are afraid to feel? Pain is made to wake us up. We try to hide it, but we are wrong, because pain is something to carry, like a skin. Our strength grows in the experience of pain. It is our own reality. If we feel remorseful of it, and hide it, we are just letting others destroy our reality. We should defend our right to feel our pain. Tears shed for a loved one are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of a pure heart.
Pain is not killed by anaesthetizing the heart. Numbing the pain for a while , it will only be worse when you finally feel it. They say, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The pain remains. As time goes by, pain lessens and the mind covers them with scar tissue, protecting its sanity. But it leaves us. As there are wounds that don't show on our body, but are deeper and more hurtful than the one that bleeds.
MY SUGESTION ????? Turn your pain into wisdom.

Insightful and it suggests you are no stranger to pain and loss.
We are taught by current society that we must control ourselves, not show grief - though we also must show grief at a funeral if we are part of the family. These rules are not healthy.
I like the old style of ululating (keening). Have you ever been told to put a false smile on your face and found that it turns into a real smile? I think that keening helps us release our true feelings.
Unfortunattely, I think even the priests would disapprove if we tried to bring it back.

Most of the times grief is the price we pay for love. though sometimes we are taught by current society that we must control ourselves - as you said - It’s so much darker when the lights go out than it would have been if it had never shone.
I personally don’t think of all the misery, but try to hold off all the beauty from the memories that remains.
