My weekend on the Karelian isthmus
Hello Steemians friends! I hope you're having a good time this weekend 😊. I decided to take a break from the bustle of the city; from the city streets filled with tourists; from the round-the-clock football festival, which continues in our city; from the red-hot streets and the noise of cars. We went to the Karelian isthmus, where the picturesque "Copper lake"is located.

It's just a short break to relax in nature and recharge with positive energy and new strength for the next week. The choice of this place is not accidental. We have already made trips to this region and we enjoyed staying in this beautiful place.

This lake is of artificial origin. It was created more than 200 years ago. The fact is that the place where the lake is located is rich in copper and iron ores. In the 18th century, copper smelters were built here, which belonged to a large well-known Russian manufacturer. Since then, a lot of time has passed and from those copper smelters and factories have not left any traces. You won't even see their location here. But the lake is preserved and exists today. It has become a favorite place for many tourists and travelers. People come here both for one day and for a longer period, arranging small tent towns on the shore.

The lake is fed by many small rivers and streams. From this the water is clean. In some places it has a very dark color, thanks to the finding here of organic substances useful for the skin. In the heart of the lake is a large island. The lake has a quaint shape with numerous small bays, bays and beaches. Therefore, you can choose a cozy quiet place and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

This lake is not very deep. But it's enough to go boating. It is good to bathe both adults and children. Fishing is very popular in these places. Fishermen come here all year round. Winter fishing is even more popular here. On the ice of the lake you can go to any place. The coast is quite shallow depth and sometimes you can see how small groups of small fish move quickly in the water.

The area along the lake is becoming more popular every year. It hosts a variety of youth festivals and outdoor music events. There are paintball courts, tennis courts, gazebos and children's playgrounds nearby. So everyone who comes here will be able to find entertainment to your taste.

Well, we have a great weekend ahead of us. Our summer is in full swing and there are still many interesting events ahead. Nature gives us a lot of sun, warmth and we are happy 😊

Sometimes it's great to get out of the city and just relax in nature! Looks like a great place to chill. Enjoy the summer, we are in the middle of winter so I like seeing all the summer photos :)
@shellyduncan Thank you for your kind words. I think our summer is like Your winter. We have an average summer temperature +20-+23 Celsius. If rises to + 27, it is a very good summer, well, if higher than +30, it's just heat :)
