A reserve for native species of Florida, at Florida's highest point.

Lake Wales, Florida, at the highest point in penninsular Florida at 298 feet,
(yes, I know, that's the highest point?) at Iron Mountain, not that Iron
Mountain, was built the Bok Tower and the Bok tower gardens. The
gardens is a reserve for species native to Florida, including many species
endangered in Florida, and extant nowhere else in the world. The gardens
are open 365 days of the year.

Edward W. Bok, born in Den Helder, Netherlands, on October 9, 1863, came
to the U.S.A. at the age of six. Bok’s grandmother told him to “make you the
world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.". So, in
February 1, 1929 He opened the Tower and the gardens.

The "singing tower" is 205 feet tall and houses the grand 60-bell carillon, 60
bells, totaling 62 tons and spanning 6 octaves. imported all the way from
England. The Singing Tower carillon concerts are at 1 & 3 p.m. daily with
short selections played on the hour and half-hour.
