Thanks! I'm not sure I would have noticed the "A Clockwork Orange" reference, if I hadn't seen that ZH comment. It also mentioned that "2001" took a really long time to produce, which also meant that Kubrick definitely could have had time to spend on the moon missions -- which he then referenced in every (?) work after that.
