Steem-Powered Camera Finally Arrived In The Mail Today!

The Steem-Powered camera arrived in the mail today!

An investment in a new camera has been on the agenda for a while as I wanted followers to have a better experience on this blog in regard to picture and video quality. That process was expedited with the demise of two cameras this month. Thanks to Steemit I had funds in my trading account to withdraw and purchase a new camera.

The Canon Powershot ELPH 360 HS is what was finally settled on. I researched cameras for a few days before I finally concluded this is the one.

The main features I was looking for are 1080p video recording and image stabilization for walking, as I plan to start walking in the mornings and want to Vlog about sobriety and a maybe crypto. The price point of $200 helped too.

How is that for a mix? Sobriety and crypto, lol. At least both subjects are good for humanity.

Many successful vloggers have used this camera in the past and a big plus is the microphone is on the front of the camera for clearer audio. The most negative features are it only has 12x zoom and it has a maximum ISO of 3200. The ISO is the sensitivity of the camera to light; the higher the ISO the better shots one can get in low lighting conditions.

Oh, did I mention it takes pretty good pictures at 20.2 Megapixels?

I will leave pictures below of the HD video that was shot during the walk over to shoot pictures of the truck in the field and also some pictures taken of flowers to check up close shot quality. There were also pictures taken of the field to get an idea of quality for wider range shots.

Hope you enjoy!

Now it's time to finally do @wolf-dawg's introduce yourself post. He should be home any minute and the post will finally be up today!

Very cool friend. Nice job.

Thanks @duckmast3r. I appreciate it.

Really cool pictures wow!

Thanks @stemmitqa. I was pretty stoked at how they turned out too. Reading through reviews this camera kept coming up and I was a little iffy because of the lower price point, but the reviews seemed to have it right.

Nice choice on that camera, the clarity on those flower pictures are awesome.I'm jealous that you can have the truck with grass and weeds growing up around it, where I live they hand out notices from the city to tow it away.

We don't even have building codes where I live. The only code there really is that to get new electricity hook up is you have to have a certified septic tank install. Thanks for thinking the camera choice was nice. That must mean the quality is acceptable. That was the goal.

wow nice camera @lexikon082
i want 1 hihihi :D

Like, I said I will check to see if it will work for your purposes!

WOW, I see a huge difference in picture quality!

Thanks for doing the research, Frank! How'd you know I was looking at buying a camera??? LOL
Gotta do my part in snapping pics on Parris Island for the Where's Waldo photos. hahahaaaa

I know you must be super excited for Parris Island! I sent out letters about 5 days ago and was going to try and get one more out to Jeremy before he graduates. I know your whole family must be stoked!

You are welcome for the research, lol. Mindreader.

Tomorrow is SIX MORE DAYS until The Crucible. I can't believe it. And Jeremy qualified expert on the range.
Joshua's platoon placed 1st in Initial Drill and he's about done with Table I qualifying. I'm waiting on letters to see how he did. He said the gas chamber "wasn't that bad" but apparently a few recruits "freaked the f*ck out". I think the DI probably grabbed him by the collar and belt and chucked that recruit back in there. doh!

I know Jeremy is stoked! That's quite an honor. I would finish 1 or 2 shots short of expert every single year, lol. I am not kidding. Story of my life. Almost excellent, but not quite.

Lol, Joshua's platoon finishes first and didn't Jeremy finish last?

The gas chamber is a crazy awesome experience. When we went through you put your mask on and whatnot. Then they make you take your mask off to experience the CS gas. So, they tell us to take off our masks. You know I try to follow the rules, so I take off my mask immediately. These dudes wouldn't take off their masks at first, so there we were for like 5 minutes choking down CS gas while waiting for these dudes to take off their masks.

What's even crazier is that we had a crazy Delta Force Drill Sergeant. This dude was literally immune to CS. He didn't even wear a mask in the room with the CS gas the whole time and would even take the canister up to his face and just take a big whiff of it and be like "You ready for the pain sissies". WTF?

OMG, didn't I tell you what Jeremy did? He was staying cool, calm and collected and thinking, "This ain't so bad." He was helping a few of the recruits and trying to calm them down, showed them how to clean out the filters. So when it was time to take off the mask he was like, "Meh. This ain't bad at all!" Then he opened his eyes, took a deep breath and was like HOLY F*CK, I'm so stupid. LOLOL But he took it and made his DI very proud. Oh, that kid!

I'm waiting on Joshua's letter to see how he did in Table I. That kid just takes everything in stride and stays cool as a cucumber. He say he loves his guys and they're doing really good.

Lol, no that is the first time I heard that about Jeremy. At least he can say he tried it!

I am glad Josh likes the others around him. That can be great for motivation when they click. I look forward to reading about how he did on his tables.

Let me know when that truck is up and running. I have a few people who would gladly buy it from you. :)

I think the truck has become part of the yard at this point. It's been sitting there for at least 7 years.

Haha, I understand that reality. It looks like it fits right in now.

Very nice pictures, my friend. I'm very happy that Steemit allowed you to buy that camera. I hope you keep sharing those beautiful photos, but remember...
Never store your camera in your wife's purse. You can lose it forever!

Thanks @tincho! Duly noted about wife's purse, lol. I will for sure post pictures from time to time. I was working on one for the B and W challenge last night but the lighting was a no go and I plan on working on that today.
