Don't call them KIDS

in #life6 years ago (edited)

The slang expression of "Kids" instead of calling them what they are "Children" is a demeaning of them and the human race as a whole. But is it also part of the subjugation principle of those that seek to control and or subjugate us.

The slang term "Kids came about in the 1960's but at first was considered improper English and disdainful. It was not used in schools or churches...and get this; even the media shunned the term! It was considered vulgarity and not used except in disdain... however speed forward to today and it is even in the dictionary.

The dignity of mankind is slipping into the abyss.

Instead of elevating mankind to higher quest for perfection, we are systematically stripping away proper language, meaning, knowledge and morals.

Kids are young Goats

The depiction of Satan is partially goat and partially man creature dating back to the early Christians when they began demonizing the gods of the people they converted to Christianity. Therefore the image of Satan was a blend of the image of the old Greek God Pan (Celtic God Herne) and Man. Sop as Children were more rambunxious and frantic in thought, speech, play and action, the nomicker of small develish critters began to take hold (and why originally shunned).

From a Christian viewpoint, a passage in Matthew may give further explanation:

"When the Son of man shall come in his glory,...he shall set the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left; then shall the King say unto the sheep, 'Come ye who are blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundations of the world.' Then shall the Kings say unto the goats on the left; 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into everlastng fire prepared for the devil and his angels'. - (Matt. 25:31-41)

For the sake of Humanity going forward, maybe we should again call them Children and disdain as well as refrain calling them Kids.

I never considered "kids" to be derogatory. Yes, I have three boys and one stepson. I call them my kids. I've also called them rug slugs, bugs, rotten so and sos, and some stronger language... But part of the culture I grew up in was that being "insulted" was a term of endearment. If we were being super nice that meant someone better duck and cover, if you know what I mean.

I appreciate that as we all have had similar experiences... but perhaps that was the original intent of the term Kids. A derogatory term nonetheless and if we wonder why many young children have low self esteem, maybe this is in part due to our language to each other.

Interessing iits the first time i knew that thanks:)

Yup they can drive you crazy, but we must revere them as one day our kids will be changing our diapers!

Yes, you nicely described the changes which occuring in this world and yes nowadays language is becoming more shortcut in nature, but we forgot one thing, we are taking words so lightly but words of any language faced an evolution of years to take that full form and now we are blending the words and yes we have to walk on the path of our almighty father because he will open the door of soulful light. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Without personal or family dignity they social order will (and is) dissolving fast. Our language must be chosen well to maintain that dignity.

Thank you for the ethimology of the word, but, if I can say, I would like to underline that in the bible and vangel, all the words need to be intepreted becaouse a lot of time they are not to take rough as they were written.
I will not demonize the word "Kids" in this way, but only for the poor way that our languages are going these modern era.

Thank you for an intelligent and insightful comment, but the intent was to illustrate that being lazy in language leads to mis-interpretation, empathy and decay for humanity. The biblical reference was not to label it as a religious issue, but rather to illuminate those that would seek to subjugate.

I had no idea!
I'll try to avoid the word

And...
Karate Kid will never be the same...

You know when you analyze the behaviors of Daniel in the Karate Kid series, he was the instigator and the bad guy that brought bad karma unto himself. A devil in disguise.
