Cousin love #2

Hello Steemians, yesterday I posted Brothers from Another Mother which features my cousins and their friends and how I act as a big brother to them.

Today I would like you to meet my cousin Joseph. He is the first one that I am going to introduce to you because he is the closest to me at this moment. We became closer since he had his daughter. It is because our wives get along well so we're just the collateral damage. Which is good because I get to see him often and it gave me a chance to guide him. On the other hand, he does open to me what's on his mind and seek for advise from me about life and fatherhood.

On this post I would like to highlight his talent. He is a ballet dancer which he excels in to and benefit from being a school scholar. The not so good side of it, they are excused from class whenever there is a need to perform. And so he missed the lesson for that subject and sometimes for the day.

I really admire this guy's talent. They even show up on Television when REGADA (water festival) was covered by the morning news show Unang Hirit. REGADA is the feast of Saint John the Baptist which is regularly celebrated in our city every 24th of June. My cousin and his group danced to open the ceremonies while the man made rain shower is dripping.

This picture below was taken in a hotel in Manila where on one of his co-member's debut. They were invited to perform together with the debutante as a special dance number for the guests.

This next photo was taken at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) when their group was invited to perform on the regional meeting. The invitation came from our city's Police Superintendent.

He was also selected as one of the boys to perform together with the girls of Dance Theater Arts (DTA) in Makati. DTA holds ballet classes and if I am not mistaken most, if not all, of their students are girls. DTA needs boys to perform with their students on recitals and this one below is my cousin who performs as the price in Cinderella piece recital of the DTA class.

He also joined some competition. And to name a few this first is a ABAP competition. ABAP stands for Association of Ballet Academies Philippines. He got the 2nd place on this competition.

And this is the performance where I really admired him. This was the Hongkong Challenge Dance Cup Competition 2017 where he performed with his groupmate at Teatro Baile de Cavite. They bagged the GOLD medal on this performance. Please watch and be the judge.

I almost became like a father to this guy. I am focused on him these days because he already have a daughter. I make sure that on his age of 18 years old, he will be a good father and example to his daughter. I always make sure that he don't waste his time on non-sense and always do good in studies. Never skip a day or a subject. I even gave him my desktop computer so he and his wife can use it for schooling. I hope he will be somebody someday maybe not with his talent in ballet but he can be somebody in many ways.

I was really happy to see the below photo because I can see the support of the whole family. They are complete on this shot and everyone was so proud. This was taken at Solaire Hotel and Casino where he performed with DTA as the prince in Snow White piece.

I would like to end this post by saying that I am really proud of this guy. He changed a lot after his daughter was born. And I was really happy that we became closer. But I hope we can have an alternative on our bonding, cigarette smoking. Maybe we'll try vaping or just forget smoking completely.
