The traditional outrigger canoe

There are many islands around our land, in Aceh, or even the island of Sumatra. Various methods and techniques of sailing have been found since time immemorial to reach land that can not be reached by land road caused by natural obstacles.

One of the most specialized technologies in shipping in this archipelago area was the outrigger canoe. Outrigger in our language, it's called as "Cadek", which is a tool for keeping the canoe or boat balance, so it does not reverse when the waves crash. When we find canoes that use outrigger, we can directly know how the wave conditions in that sea!
