Got to be a Model for Traditional Chinese Clothing
A student that used to attend the high school I teach at in China invited me out the other day. He's got an online business where he sells traditional style Chinese clothing on TaoBao which is China's eBay/Amazon.
I agreed to pose as a model and we took some photos.
A lot of foreigners in China do modelling work and I have always wanted to try it out. This was essentially my first “gig” just for the fun of it and experience. I was happy to help out this student.
Definitely a fun experience. It can be something I show to others as a portfolio if they ever want me to be a model.

His taobao store should be on fire, assuming his customers like foreign faces.
I've seen faces of people I know on billboards, without their knowledge, its always entertaining.
As much as I try to keep a low profile, its damn near impossible.
Every time I step out the door almost everyone takes note of who I am and what I am doing.
Yeah, when I asked him he told me its doing well.
Happens all the time. My face was in a picture for a fried rice place on Meituan.
In China, everybody is watching what you do out of curiosity. People you dont even know end up knowing your life story.

Sometimes out of contempt as well.
I try not to think of how many enemies I may have, just for being different.
To be fair, it also surprises me who offers to help when there is trouble, its often the last person I'd expect .
I havent needed major help yet but i find most chinese people hospitable and generous. However, the same cant be said in the possible event that one gets injured on the street. People will generally just huddle around without helping.

Looks like a fun day. What's his taobao address? I've been looking for some traditional chinese clothes that suit western people. I modeled sunglasses a month ago for an online chinese shop, maybe I will share that but the sunglasses were not my type. lol

Nah,I'm just an eBay addicted buyer.
I buy a lot of cheap silly stuff every now and then and I was just wandering about the shipping.
