People have been obsessing over pinterest for quite some time now. And to be honest I haven't seen the perk. It seemed like a confusing Google/Photobucket.
But after using it more and more, I started to understand it, and it seemed interesting! Then people claimed that it made them a lot of money, and it was a great way to promote their business. This wasn't something that I had ever considered. I'm always looking for new ways to market and connect my businesses together so I can have better control over everything. And I realize with my more art/based business; This may be a great choice.

Why Pinterest

Many buyers are on Pinterest. People plan their next room decoration or future shopping lists. Based on data, Many people go onto Pinterest to buy.
Growing a Pinterest account has been known to help people who have Affiliate marketing businesses, Book based businesses, etc.

Pinterest is a visual Google

It's amazing really. For someone like me who creates books and shirts, I can post gorgeous photos that will attract a customer better than any sentence or paragraph can.

What about writers?

If you have a writing business, Making infographics and DIY's may be your leverage on Pinterest.

Quick Tips For Pinterest!

I'm not going to go into too much depth. Because I'm still learning, But here are some tips I learned today.

  • Pin other peoples stuff too! Don't just make boards of spam.
The key is 80% other peoples stuff 20% your own business.

  • You can find services that will allow you to "Schedule" Pins. So you don't have to sit on Pinterest all day, everyday to get results.

  • Use keywords Not Hashtags.

  • Use high-quality Images.

  • Use vertical Images

  • Descriptions between 100 & 200 words

  • Pins with prices get more likes on average.

  • Red, Orange, and Brown images get more likes.

Description

Use 100-200 words on average.
Provide a link, Call to action and descriptive text.

Pinterest is a lot like any other social media site; It requires a lot of time and effort to get results. You can't just expect to be on there one day and get results.
They say that as a business you should expand to as many social media sites as possible. But I feel like us small business owners often forget that

QUALITY IS BETTER THAN QUANTITY.

If you post once a year on ten social media sites, You probably won't get many results. You need to pick and choose what is best for your niche and stick with those. TO gain traction.

I hate to be spammy, But when you purchase my Steemit shirt, You not only help build up the platform, (By Advertising). But it's only 10.99 Which is super cheap for a shirt. I don't make anything off of your purchase. Except I used my affiliate link. So I may get like 1.00. Also, you help me grow my business Because when I get sales, it helps boost my tier (So yes I do benefit a little bit from your purchase.) This shirt is high quality, And many people charge 20.00 for these shirts.

Following you now

OMG! That is how I reacted when I saw it today! My account was doubled hahah,

Nice!! I just followed you :)

Interesting text, but I have few questions:
Do they pay by view like Supload.com?
Do they pin an add to your interesting work?
Do they sell your data?

And, of course
Are they in any way superior to the Steemit?

I'm not sure!! Haha I'm still learning,
And NO They aren't superior to Steemit, But as far as marketing my business, I don't think Steemit is ready for that yet. I do advertise sometimes, But I think down the road Steemit will be a great place to get more sales out of your business.

Pinterest is a great complement to Steemit. We even have an account on there. Feel free to check it out. One does not dominate the internet using only one platform.

I would like to turn your attention towards the future that says: “One does not dominate the Internet without micropayment system”. But I wish you all the best @hilarski. Here is a meme for your Pinterest collection:

Agreed! You have to use more than one. But the same time make sure you can successfully manage it.

I followed your Pinterest :)

Pinterest can be a nice visual pop if you sell custom made items.

Yes!! I hope to grow mine so I can bring more traffic in.

I should start to use my Pinterest account more for the business! Think I have a few thousand followers on there. Since it is getting harder and harder to reach your public via facebook and google+, Pinterest and Youtube might be my next steps. Thanks for the tips!

Wow nice! A few thousand is a lot! You should. I agree its getting harder to reach people. Its getting more and more competitive.

I like Pinterest because it looks cool and works really well, but I mainly use it as a visual bookmark system and image browser - not for any work purposes
