We all know that U.S. Education sucks. What if they did more to improve things? I feel that not only the teaching method lacks quite a bit, But also the classes.

Yeah.. Lets learn calculus. Because If I work at UPS the rest of my life, I'll need it. Sure!

Lets be honest, Many of us won't end up in that career of our dreams. We won't be Astronauts or firefighters. Or whatever it is you dreamed to be. Why don't they stop sugar coating shit and start teaching us things that we could use.

A Gun Safety Class.

Probably going to get a lot of crap for this... But oh well. LOL.

Lets teach everyone how to shoot a gun, and how to be safe with it! Many people who want to RESTRICT guns are also people who know nothing about them.

Doesn't seem fair, does it?
The world would be safer if people owned more guns. So Many disasters would be prevented if people had a gun. Now, I'm not saying everyone should have one on their belt. But one in their car, Or one behind glass.

Imagine a bank robbery.
A man walks in with a gun.... Everyone starts laughing, All the customers and the staff as they draw their guns. 20 against 1. He loses.

Teaching people how to be safe with guns is obviously necessary too. So accidents are less likely to happen.
This could be a whole post in it's self. But off to the next thing.

MORE Financial Classes!

I cannot stress this enough.
Many people assume I learned how to invest in school..... WRONG! I learned about investing ON MY OWN.
It was so hard to learn! I had no idea what anything meant. Google became my best friend for those days. If we want people to be better off financially we, need to EDUCATE them. Sure we have that dumb Financial "literacy" class. But who learned enough in that class?
We need to teach people budgeting, investing, saving, How to take out a loan, How to get a home. All that "adult" stuff that 18-year-olds are supposed to automatically know.

COOKING CLASSES!

I know that many of us had to take one. But we need more than that. Everyone needs to eat. Most of my generation can't cook at all. I ended up teaching myself after gaining a bunch of weight from eating Mcdonalds and Dominos everyday.
We shouldn't be just learning "simple" recipes. In my cooking class, we mostly made muffins and other basic crap. We weren't taught about the different cooking methods. And about the different oils.
Luckily there is Youtube these days, But can school actually teach you how to adult?

ART- Think for yourself classes!

Nobody is original anymore. It's annoying as hell.
Everyone spits up quotes from their favorite movie or Tv show. People have the same beliefs as their family members. People need to learn meditation and reflection. And overall CREATIVITY.
And thinking for themselves.
And no, I'm not referring to those annoying "guided" Art classes, Where you are told what to draw and how to draw it.
I mean extremely vague instruction where it forces you to tap into your creative mind to create something different. I had a teacher like that for a while, And she opened up a whole new side to me. It was an amazing experience. You learn a lot about yourself in art, And we need more people to play around with art.

How To Be An EMPLOYER Not An Employee

This class wouldn't be for everyone, But people who want to pursue self-employment should have it offered.
They could cover the history behind how popular businesses started.

  • How to manage business finances
  • Possible fundraising tactics for startups
  • How to make money without a job.
This class would be perfect for this new generation, As there are less and less jobs it could be a huge benefit.

What other classes do you feel are necessary?

Another Idea

Standing desks, Because sitting kills!
And More recess, For High school, Jr high And Elementary because kids and adults need more time to "play".

Hey @kaylinart, you can also check our coursera, it is a great site for free classes. Oh and TED talks of course.

Thank you! I will! I love taking online classes.

Then coursera is definitely for you, I haven't been on in awhile but it is actual top schools and classes. It is a great site.

Here's the problem- the satanic pedophiles have several targeted industries that they heavily infiltrated that allows them to exert an inordinate amount of influence over our society- education is one of those industries- and they have been successful in transforming education into indoctrination. It is the top priority for these indoctrinators to mold beings who are void of individual free thought.

They do not want free thinkers nor do they want intelligent, educated beings- you need proof? Look no further than their garbage common core 'mathematics' that had the specific intention of dumbing down our kids mathematical abilities with a system that to anyone with half a brain, takes relatively easy math problems and convolutes them immensely simply for the sake of complicating the simple.

There are other industries targeted by these psychopathic control freaks whose numbers are relatively few but their influence is immense- they include politics, military, legal/judiciary, law enforcement, education, banking and even CPS.

If you have significant control over the above mentioned institutions you have significant control over society as a whole.

Wow! I didn't think of it that way.

I realize that there is something going on that we may not know all the details about. Maybe we should educate ourselves?

I think the most important class-- or classes-- we can have are those that teach critical thinking and problem solving.

Not really interested in the gun debate, but as an extension of that... maybe it would serve society well to teach kids (and people in general) how to problem solve in a non-violent way. I mean, the Swiss have lots and lots of guns, as well... they just don't kill each other with them. Why? There has to be some kind of "coping skills" class that could address the underlying issue.

I love it! Your ideas are perfect as well :) We need to change the way people think as well.

As a whole, in the spirit of versatility and power of adaptation to all changes, I'd have a curriculum called "Art of Living".

This would include, of course, arts of all forms including the culinary arts, language arts, yoga, painting, drawing, dance and music for instance. Philosophy and logic, which includes creative problem solving & critical thinking, would round up a lot of these subjects and would be directly connected to healing arts such as the ones I mentioned just before. I couldn't go without gardening and food gathering as well as survival techniques for the area where one lives, to start with at first.

Under the umbrella of philosophy and sustainable education relating to environmental studies, I'd teach economics. as time goes by the idea of history would take a wider and wider span and would also necessarily fall under that umbrella.

Great post again, thank you for sharing this with us and inquiring about our own thoughts on the matter giving us the opportunity to think about the depth of our education systems that usually and by far need major revamping.

All for one and one for all! Namaste :)

@kaylinart plenty of this please!

MORE Financial Classes!

how about sex? that's very important, too!
they have that in France and they have the least cases of STDs and teen pregnancy.

Very interesting post! I resteemed.

Critical Thinking class... not one class but on going taught at an early age right along with Math, Reading, etc.

Teach kids and then adults logical fallacies, etc. I actually believe this is one of the most important things we could ever do. A lot of people have Utopian ideas they believe can save the world and solve "big" problems, but they all have one common thing that can stop them. That thing is a population that for the majority has never been taught critical thinking. They've heard the words and they may have heard a few speeches about it, but they don't TRULY understand it. If the population at large understood this then I do believe the world would be a very different place and some of these "big" ideas to solve "big" problems might actually be achievable.

Wow your post so incredible :)
but i hope you need vote my blog too,Thanks

Great post! Agreed on all points.

Unless of course John Wick decided to rob a bank. 20 to 1 would not be nearly enough.
