There are more lies you've been told in life! It's sad how we grow up and realize we learn less than expected.

Extra Planning ALWAYS Yields Better Results

While I'm very PRO PLANNING. We are taught that if we don't plan. We'll fail. This isn't the case at all. Sometimes even in our wildish imaginations, we can't guess what is about to happen.

Sometimes just "winging It" Yields better results, Because it can sound more authentic.
I'm not saying you shouldn't plan, But life loves throwing curveballs. So Just expect not always to get the results you want.

It's Okay To Be Wrong!

UGH!
We are so obsessed with being right these days. Sometimes when we have been proved wrong, WE KEEP GOING! We know we are wrong, But we are so ashamed to admit that we are wrong, That we refuse to admit it.
It's okay to be wrong! No one is right 100% of the time!
And when you admit it when you are wrong, Guess what happens.

  • The person may gain respect for you.
  • You won't have to live with the guilt of causing more problems.
  • You can learn an important lesson.
So swallow your pride for a moment, And fess up when you're wrong.
Back at my old job, People refused to take responsibility.

One day, A higher up supervisor came over and saw a disaster in my trailer. Pretty much all the safety rules were broken. He was livid. And he stomped over to my supervisor and began yelling at him.
The manager asked who had made the mess. I went up and told the manager that I had done it. And that I messed up, I was trying to load the trailer faster, And I screwed over everyone as a result.
He was so shocked that I was so open and honest. That I wasn't even punished. He gave me a simple "Don't do it again" and left.

Being upfront about when you are wrong can save you in tough situations.

Stop Believing In Willpower

While many of us feel we have great willpower.

It's a limited resource, And it runs out.
You can't expect yourself to be 100% Tough all the time. Eventually, youre going to crack.
Thats why making things easier for yourself is important.
I have 4 32oz waterbottles next to my desk...
Why? Because drinking lots of water each day is important to me.
If I expect myself to refill my bottle each time I'm done with it, constantly, Every single day.
Guess what?
I'm not going to bother, and I'll drink less water as a result.

Making things easier, And more efficient for yourself, Will allow you to accomplish your goals faster! IF you are in an environment, Whether it's the people, The things, The location. Then you are going to break down eventually. You are fighting a losing battle. You need to get into an environment that encourages your goals, so you don't have to use as much willpower. So sticking to your goals will be easy, And you won't even have to think about it.

Don't rely on Willpower! Use it as a "bonus" That will help you get things done.

Thanks for sharing! its so true. I learn the most from being wrong and making mistakes. The most successful people are the ones who are able to overcome their mistakes, learn from them and grow!

nice thoughts and statements again my dear :-)
fully agree

Thank you so much hehe :)

You got some wise words written there @kaylinart 😉 I can just fully agree with you on the point to admit your mistakes and failures or simply being wrong about something. Admitting it you'll feel the real empowerment of being honest to yourself and the great respect yoi earn from others!

dont rely on willpower. I totally agree with that. Use your willpower to build habits, they will serve you way better.

I am still a bot stubborn on admiting I was wrong about soemthing. Especially to some people.
It is just my ego sometimes which keeps me from learning and moving on, but I am working on that and will get better at it.

So true!! I think it's a hard one for a lot of people. I used to be the same way until I just stopped caring. NO one is perfect! Which helps me do it anyways.

Yes. On an itellecutal level it makes total sense to just admit you are wrong, learn and move on. On a emotinal level on the other hand, it can be hard and it is highly dependable on the topic I am wrong. Because some can questions actions or decisions I have been doing for years, which is never fun but will propaply gain you the most.

I think this is were meditation helps me a lot, to be able to look at things without (i hope i get there one day, till now it is just less) judgment and see how things "really" are.

Oh yes. The older I get and the more I dont care about other peoples opinions, the happier I get. Also something to work on and one of the most valuable things I have learned in my years so far.

@flipstar well bro will power helps sometime when u r in a date and u have to fart but u cant in front of ur date dn it is ur will power who hold dt gas bomb from getting loose from ass 😂😂💨💥
#upvote

this is also true.

Lucky for me I am small and fat so I dont date ;-)

Lol me too after break up and u should upvote my comment 🖖

Yes, we can't expect ourselves to be 100%. Eventually, we will break ourselves but, do you know what I do, what I need, I share those things to God & virtually imagine that I already got that on. Like a car, if I need a car first I virtually drive that car in my mind with action & have fun. Thanks @kaylinart

Lol. @sam99, I can tell you are a master of memes. Nice One!

I definitely agree with your view on "It's Okay To Be Wrong!" Most people are worried about making mistakes as well admitting to them. However, I have usually learned a lot more from my mistakes compared to when I have gotten things right.

I also really like your water bottle example under "Stop Believing in Willpower." Your suggestion there actually matches the concept of a nudge. It's something that's suppose to alter how you behave without banning or forcing to you to do something. As you stated before, willpower is limited. It's a resource that drains over time so it's best to find easier ways to achieve our goals.

A fellow water addict, let's drink some right now!

I've got some squeezed lemon in mine and half a calcium/vitamin d tablet for good measure!

Very true about willpower. It starts out high, then depletes throughout the day. That's why its smart to start the day with the most crucial (and often boring tasks) and then easy up as the day goes by. I try to do most of the MUST-do things early on. Nice article!

Exactly! Hehe Nice comment! That this is why i push the harder tasks on myself first thing in the morning.

Oh my oh my. We're each the lucky recipients of a Hoarders basement full of lies!

Love it! Following

Thank you heheh :) What a nice way to put it!

@kaylinart well one lie i was always told by my ex is that she loves me 😂😂 what a heartbreaking b*#&c
And there is one more lie i always keep telling myself is dt @kaylinart will upvote my comment and follow me 😊
