This year, Tokyo held its 45th Motor Show at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, Japan. The event lasts 10 days from 27 October through 5 November, and showcases hundreds of cars from Audi to Porsche to BMW. The very first show was held in 1954 by H.I.H. Price Takamatsu at Hibiya Park in Tokyo.

Although many people were unable to afford the automobiles at the time, about 254 Japanese vendors showcased 267 motor vehicles as a way to enhance the car buying "dream" in the future.

As soon as you depart the subway station, there are sponsors with signs directing you where to go to get to the show.

They also have jackets with the Tokyo Motor Show logo.

We have finally arrived at the Tokyo Big Sight building.

And the crowds are pouring in.

In total, 771,200 visitors attended this year's show.

We race to the ticket counter, so we can beat the crowds, but we are too late. The lines have already started forming.

And boy are they long.

Some sponsors even use megaphones to help direct traffic through the lines.

We finally purchase our tickets. Now it's time to enter inside for some shots of these amazing cars.

The building is divided into East Halls and West Walls with a breakdown of the cars included in each.

Stay tuned for the beauties awaiting in the East Halls next.

I'll be waiting for part 2 Katrina. :)

Yes, sir! Part 2 will be phenomenal.

Nice post, pretty thorough documentation of the journey through photos and of course I am really looking forward to the next part - old cars are so cool! It is a shame the modern car design seems to have lost so much of the soul that older designs had.

Yes, they sure don't make them like they used to.
