Lycans. Part 2.

Alex had spent several minutes walking before finally reaching the Moors. He took a moment to examine the hills around him, barely able to see through the thick fog clinging to the floor. He had to move fast, sun was setting and he didn't want to be out here alone after dark. Sure, he was a skilled swordsman, he had no doubts about that, but there's a difference between being skilled and being a overconfident.

The Venator took a moment to crouch down, placing his palm flat against the grass, remaining silent as he thought. Grass seemed healthy; no Wraiths had passed through recently. He couldn't smell anything to suggest any Decayed had been on the Moors either. They leave a stench for days wherever they go, so he would still be able to sniff them out, but they hadn't been here, so he could cross those off his list.

Alex stood up, moving a hand to his hip, letting his fingers rest on the hilt of his sword as he started to slowly walk into the Moors, being swallowed by the fog. Mentally, he was crossing off any possibilities of what could have killed this woman's husband, though it was a large list, and he had next to no information. These types of blind missions were always a pain in Alex's ass, but gold was gold at the end of the day.

His walking abruptly came to a halt when he heard a howl from across the open fields. Wolf pack most likely. For now hr was clear; Howls seem very far off, however they were giving him more of a reason to hurry along. Reluctantly, he carried on. Though it just so happened that he was heading in the direction of the howling, lucky him. A pack of Wolves weren't the greatest of threats, but Alex would rather not pick a fight that he could avoid.

The fog was thick, making it hard for the Hunter to see three feet in front of him, and the wind was picking up into an icy breeze that made Alex shudder slightly whenever it blew his way. Again, a howl echoed from across the Moors, followed by a growl. Had he been seen? Possibly, but from where? Alex stepped back, looking around as he drew a sword from his hip, clutching the handle as he narrowed his eyes to try and see through the thick fogs. Another growl came, followed by a sickening shriek. Something else was out here with him. The sounds of fighting came from ahead of him before a loud yelp came from one of the wolves followed by the tearing of flesh. Something was killing the pack.
