I respectfully disagree "people have learned to hide their true feelings" ....the eyes speak very loudly and very hard to hide feelings. Remember the saying " body language does not lie" so look very closely to the body and not so much what they say.
The world changes, people change. Adapt to a cruel life become stale, and now often can be mistaken in people.
