Want to have your post on the map too?
All such gorgeous shots, and it was so sad reading about all the damage and devastation caused by these floods
As for the question what is freedom, I am sureif you asked 10 people from 10 different areas of the world you would get 10 different answers.
As for my answer, hmmm Freedom for me is the ability to have the choose to make decisions abotu what one wants to do with the moral and ethical constraints to know the choices you make do not hurt anyone else or there choce and freedom
Life carries on, people will slowly rebuild, very sad to witness the filth washed out into the sea. Lessons need to be learned a lot quicker.
Many call for freedom, I agree depending on situation each will be different.
Do no harm in obtaining said freedom to person, animal, Eco-system, everything has a domino effect.
Yes abd a good point mention no Harm to person, Animal and eco system, thats how I feel as well
It is truly so sad to see such devastation, having seen similar in a few places over the years, it make sit all the more real knowing how traumatic t is to so many
Sometimes human nature scares me, I rather dived into mother nature's arm...
Respect nature at all cost...
Yup! 😊
Your photo essay creates a calming balance to the events you describe in the first part of your post. I wasn't aware that South Africa was suffering such horrific weather. These are the times that test character.
I hope people find the necessary spirit to help each other through difficulty.
Very disheartening to witness the destruction of the storm, many now homeless, trains will not run for months due to damage which affects commuters in lower income bracket.
Oh how I wish to be up there in the mountains! Just reading the newspaper front page this morning makes me want to run away, what is wrong with our municipality?!!!
Lovely lovely post @joanstewart, thank you for this :)

ANC emphatically stated to make the country lawless before getting into power, now they have no idea how to implement law and uphold it.
Sweeping trash down storm water drains in preference to picking it up and placing it into a bag, as employed to do, the results are evident.
Shack dwellers need access to water, consequently build on rivers banks then get washed away annually, wild cycle of not building proper homes quick enough when gravy train swept into power....
Plus now eThekwini HR have messed up big time by employing ex MK vets in positions they're not skilled in, on higher grades than other skilled workers in the exact same posts, so we must pray that we don't have water & sanitation breakdowns now as they're striking! Silverglen residents have not had water since the rains!

"No comment," nothing has been maintained water, sanitation, roads, bridges just a matter of time....

Thanks for acknowledgement @steemitbloggers #powerhousecreatives
Very beautiful photos. And some resemble different things.
It looks like a shark's fin
Jaws in the sky, like that description.
Wow! Your posts seems to be improving by the day Lady Joan.
This is a great story here and tomorrow the sun will shine again.
I have right now watched the clouds swallow the sun at speed and I think more bad weather is on its way!
Blessings!
Life is an ongoing boiling pot, sometimes easier to explain using nature photography to try. Sun will shine on everyone, no matter what hardships we have to face.
So true and if only everyone could understand this and not get trapped in anxieties at the advent of the dark arrivals. But we are human.
Blessings!
Beautiful Mountain Cloud Compositions!!! Well done!
Thanks for your kind comments.
