In the south of the Argentine Republic in the sister city of the land of fire Vivian a community called the Selk`nam, in this living community a young man named Kákach this young man was of very small and very strong structure of courageous character, prudent and gentle.
Kachach was very adventurous, he liked to stroll along the seashore, one day when he was on his morning walk, he saw a large, stout woman coming out of the sea from the distance and coming towards him as he approached. Young man noticed something strange in the woman, when he was close he could see that he had a small head did not condone the woman's great body, the young man ran to spread the news to the people, but since he was very adventurous nobody believed in his words, he Young man remembered an old sage from the village called Kauj, ran desperately to tell the news, the sage listened carefully to the story of Kachach, very thoughtful did not utter a word, looked worried and answered to meet the woman with those characteristics, is called Taita, it's the worst news you could have given me, Kauj said.
At that time the town had no drinking water, so it was as the woman out of the sea Taita began to search for water to drink and discovered, the only place where water could be consumed was a lagoon of fresh water.
These waters enchanted to Taita, transformed and became petty with the water, began to surround the whole lagoon with poles and shrubs, I surround the whole lagoon except a place where she sat to take care that nobody approaches the water, the people of the Town began to be thirsty, the novelty arrived soon to the town, they knew that Taita found a place to drink water.
The villagers approached the lagoon to drink water, but the giant did not let anyone consume the water, at the point of a knife ran all, the people of the village began to despair, this was how Kákach the very brave little man very angry decided Finish with the evil giant.
The valiant young man with the help of the wise Kauj resumed old customs, they made the ritual of war of the Indians, painted the face of red and the body of black, not to be seen in its attack of night, prepared spiritually next to the wise one Entrusting his life to the supreme arrival the night, stealthily way until arriving in the environs of the lagoon where the giant woman was, his plan to arrive until Taita was simple had to dig a trench as if it were trench and to slide in until it arrives at the Giant woman.
The courageous young man began to dig the ditch, took him all night and began to dawn and there he saw the enemy and sitting nearby with knife in hand, the first impression of Kákach was fear, Taita impressed with its size, the young man crawled Until I arrived and took the enemy by surprise, I took her by the legs and began to roam the earth, I boldly removed the knife to Taita, the very skillful giant took the young Kákach's hair, he shouted strongly for the pain of the scalp , The evil giant took the boy's tongue and stretched hard to pull out the tongue, the brave boy reacted, with the same knife Taita killed the giant woman.
The fight left Kákach exhausted to life but without strength dragged himself to the lagoon and was able to quench his thirst, took water in a bowl and wiped the wounds that provoked Taita.
I cleaned the container full of water and took the water to the village and gave the elderly people who were suffering from thirst, soon broke the news of the release of the lagoon, the whole population ran to drink water drank so much to quench thirst .
The wise thought the way that no one else took over the lagoon, took a big stone and darted as far as it could this key with so much force that the earth broke from the far to reach the lagoon in water of the lagoon began To flow through the channel, to see this Kauj began to throw stone in several directions and thus formed the causes of the rivers and the lakes, the water of the lagoon began to flow freely in this way nobody else would own the waters of the lagoon.

Since that day everyone lived in peace and harmony, poor Kákach was very fond of the fight, could not bear the death of the giant and went crazy, climbed trees and gave continuous blows with his head and was laughing strongly.
The eagles say that one day before the eyes of the village the brave little man began a transformation, they grew wings and plumages became a bird with a red crest and black plumage, a long tongue and makes a great sound as if it were a laugh.

Woodpeckers are so beautiful. Even though some might think they are annoying - which they can be if they are rat tat tatting on your eavestrough -- I find it relaxing.

Are beautiful birds, worthy of being observed.
I appreciate your valuable time in visiting and commenting on my post. thank you very much

We had a huge window in one of our houses. And a 25' evergreen in the front - birds used to fly into our window and be stunned temporarily. I hated to see it happen. So I applied back bird cut outs on the window so they'd think birds were there and wouldn't fly into it anymore. But the one that did and didn't make it was a woodpecker. I have never seen such perfection in my life. It's coloring and color just stopped and started as if drawn by a pen. And he was large. I cried. He didn't make it. I was so upset for days. It didn't happen again except with a cardinal - but he made it thankfully.

What a sad story, thank you for sharing this fraction of the intimacy of your life. Thank you very much for supporting my work

I painted a woodpecker on one of the interior walls of my house. One of my favourite birds.

Is a beautiful bird, my whole life I love this bird, in my province is not very common to see it. When I cross with the story do not hesitate a second to write it. Many thanks Mrs. @opheliafu for visiting, commenting and supporting my work.

One visits my mother's garden everyday, to take advantage of the bird food! But there are quite a few in the woods near me too, you hear them more than see them.

That beautiful gift has to enjoy its beautiful appearance and its songs, to see this one thinks that great and wise that is the nature, the wise creator what it did, thank you very much for commenting
