Home Is Where The Heart Is
Do you ever wish you could live somewhere else? Or, upon returning home from a holiday, do you find where you live to be boring and uninspiring? In other words, do you think the grass is greener on the other side?
Lately, when I meet up with my friends, our conversations often lead to how nice it would be to live in another country. The pictures we see online and stories we hear make these foreign places seem like a complete tranquil postcard. However, when I travel and tell people that I live in Southern California, with Disneyland right next door and these picturesque beaches, they think I must be living in paradise.
So, why do we desire to live somewhere else when there are others who find where we live to be a dream land?
High taxes and politics are my major complaints of living in CA…but, are these big enough problem for me to want to move away from all my friends and family? I have decided to have a better perspective; to start to take a positive look on where I live. After all, I suppose there is always going to be those annoying little factors no matter where you live. Aside from that dreadful traffic, the high taxes that never stop rising, and those draconian laws that continue to keep passing, California truly is a beautiful place.
In conclusion, it is best to think about the reasons behind your wanting to move. Is it because you truly want a new start, a different experience, or are you trying to “escape” from your boredom?
