Ever wonder what the homeless have learned about life? What if you were homeless one day? LEARN!

Youtube suggested I might be interested in some of these videos... and this time, they were right!

.
If the economy falls hard (ok, it already has).... but IF the economy falls down even worse, and I ever became homeless... what kind of skills or knowledge would I need to survive on the street?

...I learned things like, your shoes being stolen... EVEN IF they are all ratty, torn, and broken, and stinky... Your shoes will definitely going to be stolen on a regular basis while you are wearing them and sleeping.

I didn't know that...

...I also didn't know that you will be given fresh socks all the time by people... just never a pair of shoes that you desperately could use.

Homeless people are on their feet all the time. They go through shoes fast. A good pair of shoes if you are on the street is one of the most commonly stolen items.

How does someone become homeless?

We can usually guess drugs, mental illness, criminals fresh out of jail. What if it is a family failure scenario?

Amazingly, this person I watched was moving out to LA with his wife to stay with family when times got a little tough. They packed up, got on a bus and by the time they got there... no one would answer the phone.

They spent what little they had left to survive, and then ended up on the street... On skid row, near the bus station where all the food shelters are located.

  • Problem is, bullies in the area actually tax the homeless. If they pan-handle, they want a cut. Then a few weeks later, the bullies want a bigger cut.

  • Think you and your cardboard box can setup anywhere? No. It's not the police or the store merchants kicking you out. It's other homeless people too. They are very territorial. You can't even sleep in certain places without permission from other existing homeless people. I didn't know that either!

Just because you're homeless doesn't mean you will not have someone reaching into your nearly empty pocket to grab what little you have!

This one video was so full of information, it made me interested to see more!

.
I don't want to spoil the video... but there are some good things this guy has learned and freely shares... about finding yourself... realizing how much you can tolerate, and more...
.
It became a video of..
knowledge, inspiration, humbleness_, and I am thankful my worst periods in my life are not that bad.

As the economy and money runs scarce for all of us...

It is interesting to put yourself in someone else's shoes for a moment.

  • Unless of course... that person mentions their shoes were stolen again... which is sad.

Real life is important to learn about. The channel is called "Invisible People" on Youtube, and I recommend it.

...this person was kind enough to share his story. Be kind enough to take a few minutes to hear it.

Thank you for this post.

There will be 40,000 plus homeless veterans sleeping on the streets in the USA tonight. Our elderly, disabled and poverty stricken fill the streets and ally ways of the USA. We are nearing a point of critical change, the homeless are the new untouchables. Genocide is the next logical step for this country to take against the homeless.

Homeless rights are human rights.
