Ever feel you're stuck in the cycle of life, and you're not really going anywhere? Sleep, Eat, Work, Play, Sleep. Repeat.

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Many people feel like their lives are stuck in a perpetual cycle.  Today, feels no different than the same day last week.

Most of us go to work, or school, and repeat the same behavior.  We have a routine.

...then comes the weekend, or your days off.. that's when you get to live for a couple of days.  The last 5 out of 7 days spent in your routine allows you to have fun and live for a couple days.

Weeks like this start passing by.. week after week..

That's ok, because bills are still getting paid, you're doing what you can do, and should do..

But in the back of your mind, you know you're getting older, and your youth is disappearing over time.

Is that just me?  No, it's most people.

I can surmise why this is an issue... it's really the economy.  There are great years when the economy wasn't so bad. I won't list all of them, but 1999 to 2004 was a good 5 year period that I remember.

Money was flourishing.  Everyone had money. Mostly beause credit cards were landing in people's mailboxes, and everyone had a cash flow.

Some people were written in news articles as having 20 credit cards.  Imagine that..  Today, if you have more than 5 credit cards, that's impressive.

Banks were loaning money like it was out of style.  That money made it into the economy, and everyone could afford anything.  If you were willing to work or sell, you got paid.

Come 2007/2008 and the banks needed a bailout.  The world hasn't been the same since.

Countries are going bankrupt. Not meeting their obligations.  Entire countries?

Near Bankrupt: Ukraine, Greece, Venezuela, Belize, Jamaica, Argentina, Belarus

...all of them are near bankrupt and can't provide basic services to their citizens anymore.

You know the majority of citizens of those countries are also suffering too..  The state of Michigan in the USA was near bankruptcy.  There's States where they can't afford to pay their police departments some months.

Guess what?

The media has stopped talking about it.  They were for a bit, but all it did was cause scare and panic.

So we pretend the problem doesn't exist.

Doesn't that feel good? If we don't think or talk about severe problems, they simply don't exist.

So if you feel that you're stuck in the cycle of life, and you're not really going anywhere..

At least you're only stuck. You're not bankrupt yet.  You're still able to feed, clothe yourself, and have shelter.

Myself?

I dream of the time when I can go on a 3 week vacation, blow $5,000 during it, and when I get back, think about doing it again next year.

Vacation? There is no vacation possible in my life right now.

Am I working too hard? Sure. Are you doing something similar, maybe?

At least both of us are not bankrupt yet.

What's the good news? Is it going to STAY this way?

I doubt it.  It might stay this way for another 3-5 years.. but that's about it. We've all been in this cycle of life far too long already.  The world's economy can't stay this way forever. Some major changes are coming down the line.. it is just going to take some time.

What did you say? 3 to 5 years before we see a change?

Yes. Even with a new president (Trump or Clinton)....

Or even with Russia, China, and the USA going to war (3-5 years)

It takes that long for the economy to make a significant change.  So put on your seatbelt and get ready to ride this out for a minimum of another 3-5 years before your bank account reflects the economic changes that everyone feels.

Our kids are going to have kids, who will read about the bad economy 2007 - 2021 as one of the worst economic times in history when countries were even going bankrupt.

I believe that around year 2022, we'll have another great time where everyone can go on vacation again.

That's when most of us can have a surplus of cash, have a savings account again (instead of just a chequing or main account), and watch your wealth grow.

So if you feel like you're stuck in the cycle of life at least that is the worst of it.

People continue to lose their homes, don't know where their next meal is coming from, and have lost everything they've ever owned.

If that's not you. Don't worry, change is coming. Just get ready to ride this out for another 3 to 5 years.

i have found that a goal list makes me feel like im on less of a hampster wheel lol when i can actually see that progress has been made i know im moving forward lol not just same old

good post!

Thats a great idea

Most people really do not have a mission or goal in life to make a difference in theirs.

We are taught and programmed it is about self, if we can get past that to help others in turn help others, we will feel a greater purpose no matter what comes at us.

I think if you have to work (which is mostly everybody) the only way to be truly happy and off of the hamster wheel is to have a job that you love doing .

It's not an easy task though......

Honestly don't know how anyone lives a life of monotony. I did it years ago and am blessed enough to work from home and have a chunk of flexibility with my schedule. It's what keeps me sane.

Millions of people are doing this... they're just not sure how long they can keep it up. It's getting old and redundant fast. Their tolerance is running out.

Yes,yes, yes, yes and YES! 🎼🎵🎶🎼The Wheels on The bus go round and and round! 🎶🎼🎵🎼DO DA DO DA! BLAH BLAH BLAH! LOL! 👍😉

LOL. you feel it too. Just havin fun with it. It is either go with it and laugh or cry. I like the way you deal with it... let's just enjoy the ride.
