Be generous, be happy; enjoy giving !! Train through practice to enjoy this virtue.
The notion of virtue is abstract and is related to the idea of acting for the common good. Here, it can be basically understood in two ways: at the individual level or at the level of transcendent condition (possibility of knowing myself) of the human being. Virtue is generally understood as a phenomenon that is acquired from socialization and community life since it is respect for the others that will allow our own survival. The virtue of acting according to the values imposed or developed by a particular society will always be a benefit for all.
Generosity is a very important virtue that is often associated only with the economics as if it were only possible to be generous giving money to another person, an error very typical of a materialistic and consumerist society.
Generosity refers not only to the material aspects but also to the emotional one. That is, a person can be generous in affection, in patience, in smiles and in beautiful words. But in addition, a person can also be generous in time by being available to others.
Generosity shows how to be kind and close in the treatment of a person who not only thinks of himself but also, is interested in the welfare of the other. Generosity is one of the qualities necessary to have a healthy relationship and also, to have real friends.
Generosity is linked to love, that is, someone who loves someone in some way, wants to show the best of himself to that person. Generosity reflects the openness of heart needed to lay the foundation of trust between two people. Generous people have positive thinking, have faith in people, enjoy the present moment ...
Generous people have good self-esteem, are aware that they are important but also know that others are. They are grateful people who want to respond to the affection of others with positive initiatives and signs of affection. Generous people are lucky in life because they themselves plant their own luck thanks to their open and disinterested attitude.
On the contrary, avaricious people suffer because they are afraid of running out of nothing and ending up even more empty. They live on the defensive so they lose many opportunities by having the wrong attitude.
Generosity is synonymous with solidarity, a very important value that in today's society is becoming more and more powerful in a context of economic crisis or also in a world in which there are still many social inequalities. Generosity can be put into practice with the closest people or also, with strangers. For example, a possible gesture is to give financial aid to a social assistance entity.
Generosity is a skill that is trained through practice. That is, the generous is for his deeds and not just for his words. Generosity is a virtue that adds happiness, inner peace, illusion and joy to your life because the love that gives you comes back to you with more strength
Could all of the above be certain? Well the conclusion from recent a study in Switzerland at the University of Zurich is that generous people live happier .... Fifty people participated in the experiment. For the experiment they took a group of 50 people to whom they were promised the delivery of a sum of money that they had to spend over several weeks. Half of the group had to spend the money on themselves, while the other half committed to spend it on someone they knew.
The experiment concluded that people who behave generously were happier than those who acted selfishly.
The size of the gift did not influence the level of satisfaction obtained; as one does not need to become a sacrificial martyr to feel happier, just being a little more generous will suffice.
While participants made the decision to invest money, scholars studied three areas of the brain to measure reactions: the temporoparietal union, where prosocial behavior and generosity are processed; the ventral striatum, which is associated with happiness; and finally, the orbitofrontal cortex, where we measure the pros and cons when making decisions. By simply mentioning the participants who were to behave generously, activated the brains in the altruistic area and intensified the interaction between this and the area associated with happiness.

Never be generous or good expecting some kind of recognition from the others, but for the sole sake of it, for the pleasure of doing what is right and pleasurable.
That is the idea .. I personally failed; in hard times you don't think straight .. still with time I learned what the joy of giving means....cheers

Giving from the heart is what I aspire to do regularly, even it is a simple compliment and support for a project. Which why I truly support crowdfunding. SteemOn... good post, thanks for the links.
I had to change for me to "understand" that generosity is about yourself ... feeling good about your self and that one is happier by making happy others...I think ..
Thank you for sharing....this is encouraging. I hope that I can become more generous and giving.
Nice post. It is very well timed with my day today. I was walking through my city and I realized many of the homeless people begging aren't necessarily just out there for money. How lonely a life that must be. Constantly ignored and looked down upon by strangers passing by.
Even though I have no money in my pocket, I still want to share my generosity. I decided on this very day to make it a point to exchange at the very least a warm smile with those most in need. Thank you for sharing
Together, let’s build a wonderful
