I discovered this song on youtube titled Secret by Isreal Houghton and his wife Adrienne.

Been on repeat on phone ever since. The song addresses a lot of things with a deep lyrics that gives insight into the way and manner at which we humans think.

Sometimes when we are overwhelmed with stuffs or life, we lie to everyone about everything. We hide our real self and present our fake self to the world. Pretense will become our befriend in other to keep the secret of our real self.

We feel whatever it is we have done or hiding from the world is a shameful thing that we shouldn't share or be heard of. This secret becomes too deep to keep or too heavy a cross to carry. Sometimes the best thing for some is to seek rest by ending their life.

When our heart is heavy and we run away from people who might be of help, we are inviting depression into our life. Depression makes one to be separated from the world. It creates a wide gap between the victim and the world.

Towards the end of the song, the singer is telling us despite our weakness, pain and trials, no matter how far we hide or run away from them, the Lord sees it all and still loves us still.

Isreal made mention of a mask in the song, mask are used to keep secret about the person wearing it. It leaves the people watching confused or wondering about who is behind the mask. Putting on a happy face, sweeping away the troubles like it never existed is like wearing a mask. Wearing the mask makes us pretend like we are better still and makes us feel like we are covering our shame. Therefore we end up taking the problems to the grave by leaving the world early because we feel nobody knows.

God sees all darkness and he alone knows the truth and irrespective of this, he loves us still. He said we should come to him all that are heavily laden, he will give us rest. You cannot wear a mask for God, no power to sweep it all under the rug, give it all to him and he will make it all go away.
