India on hold and violence everywhere| Bharat Bandh
Today it is a sad day for Indian Democracy when simple overview over provisions of the,"Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, which protects marginalised communities against discrimination and atrocities" can go this violent. There is news about riots and protests in Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan and many more places. I am sharing links from different news channels.
Schools, Markets are closed and Mobile internet services have been barred. There is the sense of nervousness all around. India claims to be the third power of the world but yet people of India are not mature to be able to own that title. It is a sad day for Indian Democracy. Really very sad.

These news are heartbreaking, terrible day for India. My heart goes out to all the Indian children who are affected the most, especially since all educational institutions are in shutdown because of these protests. I pray for the safety and peace overall the nations of India.

Very saddening, the more people getting civilized the more violence is portrayed. May there be peace worldwide and people learn to live & let live, amen.
It's the more about those oppurtunists that ignite the emotion of people and lead them.

India is not isolated in this. It is happening everywhere in the world.

India is an amazing country. I always worry about her when I see programs on television about India. There is a special culture that they managed to preserve. But the poverty of most people and the unsanitary conditions in which people live, including children, make me very upset (((
@marymik23 I agree that poverty ratio is quite high in India but the situation is not depressive at all. People now have buying capacity and middle class and lower middle class have better living conditions now. If we look at such a big population then we should always remember that not all of them are going to get everything. In Europe, there are very few people to share the resources.
Indian govt has taken strong and effective steps to improve sanitization. Situation is far better then before and the future looks promising :) You must visit once.
My parents and friends visited there this winter. I think about this )

I was also wondering why would they claim that they are 3rd economy in the world. According to who? Somehow I cannot see them being ahead of USA, china, germany and japan.
