I noticed my voting power explode as well. Very cool, plus have you seen the Steem Whales? Very few powering down compared to before. I am hoping for a moon shot for Steem in the next few weeks. The experiment should have been announced as many people are upset.
Clarity would have helped, but some noisy users would complain none the less
I agree.
I think people forget that we are still in beta and now is actually the time to experiment.
We have to try things out in order to learn and see the consequences.
We need to see the big picture here. The concept of Steemit is unique in history so yes we are part of one big experiment here including the whales.
To me it shows the whales care about the platform.
If there is one thing that has come out of it is that I think Steemit needs like a notice board that all can go to find out what is going on or perhaps bot that informed of such things.
In my experience people just like to be informed.
If all knew it was an experiment then all would have acted differently in that they might have taken advantage of having more voting power. That is the only fault I can find in this test.
I would have liked them to coordinate with the development team to put a no Down Vote/Up Vote for a certain steem power as a soft fork for a limited time. Then the experiment would have been 100% accurate as to the outcome and effect, and would not have required the flagging to balance it out.
The key is cooperation and people convincing the developers. No clue how realistic the chances of that are or not.
I have seen it, man. That plus this amazing experiment made me decide to but more Steem this morning.
