Choose to Not be Angry, it is a Waste of Time
"For Every Minute You Are Angry You Lose Sixty Seconds of Happiness."
I have to admit that my rage boils just under my smile. I try my best to hide my anger but occasionally the Hulk awakens. This scene with Blake and Bruce Wayne is perfect. (Starting at 1:30) Batman is my favorite comic book hero because he is the epitome of a flawed person who is trying to make the world better. I don't agree with using violence of any sort to control a situation but I do understand the rage that drives a person.
How Do We Manage that Anger and Put it to Good Use.
Anabell and I like to joke that we are two fireballs working together for the same endgame. We are building a company that will change a small piece of the world. This is what brings us joy. My happiness is born out of work and seeing other people happy after I help them. I won't speak to what makes my wife happy, she can handle that.
I see people around me struggling to find joy on a daily basis instead of just accepting who they are and being happy with that. We all know material things, mind altering drugs, relationships and any number of other things we use to find happiness don't work. We as a sovereign person need to make a daily decision to be happy with who we are. It really is as simple as that. I personally believe you can be angry and put it to good use as Dr. Banner does.
For me, "gratitude" is an important part of happiness... I watch people around me get angry and they are so often obsessing over "flies in the ointment;" focusing on tiny things they perceive to be wrong with an otherwise beautiful picture.
On a larger scale, anger can be a great catalyst for change... I tend to be very calm and even tempered, so when I get angry about something, I also know that I need to look at what it is that needs changing in my surroundings.
I have learned to stay calm. When I was young in my teens and in early adulthood I was really an ass. That saying, "I wear my feelings on my sleeve" was me. Thank goodness self improvement is a real thing.
true sir.. i think our emotion when we are younger eats us and became the most unwanted person that we thought we are.. people became angry on everything even a little thing but people change.. and this emotion also helps us to grow and became a person that we are now dealing in our emotions/angry is the best improvement we can be.
A most excellent subject and article, as always, thank you!
When anger hits the shores of my being, I always look beyond the trail of destruction it leaves and search for its source. Finding the roots are always, ALWAYS, a very power source of healing for me and, most often, for others. Patience being the "Mother of All Virtues" feeds all...
Thanks again for underlining such a critical and important understanding. Namaste :)
Anger can be contagious, but thankfully happiness can be too. What sort of virus do you want to be?
We all live moment to moment, and each one of them counts. Happiness is just decision away, always better to choose it over anger. Good post man!
Good post. When I get angry, I say to myself :"Life is beautiful and amazing!" and everything goes))
Good advice, but sometimes it is so hard to do, there are situations when it is impossible otherwise.
staying calm in the middle of your emotions is a good decision.. Being angry can make a person go wild.. the best thing to do is to stay calm take a deep breath and set aside your emotion because you will miss the happiness in every second, minute and hour of it.
What a wonderful Piece of Wisdom :D
true what you say @hilarski be patient and strive for the best more better than angry
Well, I believe that it's not bad to be angry. As for me, I let it out. I will either eat comfort food or throw and break something. Maybe, I will drink or cry as hard as I can. I will tell others if I'm not okay. And once I did let it all out, I know I can be happy again. I must say, it's worse to contain your anger. A man who never gets angry, who never cries is a very, very scary. Great post @hilarski! 😊
