Autism, an evolutionary anomaly of brain

In our current society, the main thing is the individual interests of each person, and among them you can find very few who have abundant knowledge on topics of interest that make them work and keep their level of labor and intellectual competitiveness against others, in this society increasingly competitive. A perfect example of a topic of interest that people ignore is autism, this topic is generally excluded from the topics of conversation, except in those families that have some member with this disorder, so that almost by obligation should be informed about it to attend and understand your family member. It is because of this exclusion, lack of information and the relatively broad knowledge that I have on the subject, that I decide to base my publication on autism, in order to complement my knowledge and that can be shared with any interested person.
"Autism is a group of alterations of the cognitive and affective capacities of brain development that originate from an early age and affect brain development for a lifetime."
These damages caused by autism in the development of the brain, brings social consequences that, like their brain damage, remain for a lifetime and make it impossible for people to lead a normal life, such as the vast majority of the human population. try to get; and it is sad to think of the fact that, because of a disorder, which occurs because of someone else's will, they can not live and enjoy the benefits that society offers them and what they could get if they could only count on the all of your mental faculties.
But despite this obstacle that gets in the way of autistic people, it is known that some of them have been able to meet their goals and objectives, such as Dr. Temple Grandin, who was diagnosed with autism. Early age, and today at 65 she is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado, with a Ph.D. in Animal Science in the United States. This is a clear example of the determination that can be found in a person to achieve a goal, even if he has disabilities of some kind, and motivates us to follow our path to our dreams.
The autistas present a feature in common that characterizes them, and it is the great difficulty for the socialization, and among this are the difficulty for the understanding of the language, emotions, gestures, empathy, among others. It is opportune to mention that it was thanks to the development of the socialization ability in our main ancestors, which allowed us to emerge and progress as a species until conquering the world; with this I ask myself: Does this mean that autistic people, because they can not socialize easily, cease to be human? To some degree, yes, since socialization, together with the mental capacity to invent, learn, and create, are the characteristics unique that differentiate us from animals, and therefore gives us the name of humans.
Wikipedia: Humans are social entities, capable of conceiving, transmitting and learning totally abstract concepts. There is no evidence that there is another way of life with such abilities -or superiors- in the universe.
However, autistic people maintain and in some cases far surpass other human characteristics or abilities, among them is the mental capacity to invent, learn, and create. To this type of autistic whose intellectual capacities exceed those of an average person, they are known as Savants, or Sage Syndrome, also known as a variation or spectrum of autism, called Asperger's Syndrome, which like the Savants they surpass the intellectual capacities of ordinary people, but with socialization difficulties.
These variations or spectra of autism, (Sage Syndrome, Asperger Syndrome), provides people with the capabilities to store and process in their brains large volumes of information at surprising speeds; One knows of the case of Kim Peek, who was the most famous and prodigious of the Savants, to him, it was easy to learn anything, from complex languages, entire books, the notes of a music, to the history of the world with all the details According to relatives, Kim could use each eye to read a different page at the same time. But despite these abilities that we find hard to believe, he, with other medical conditions apart from Sage Syndrome, could not perform the tasks that are simpler for us, such as tying shoes, dressing, cooking, others. This case of Kim reminds us that a lot of good can be bad, but he or anyone can choose what he can or can not do in the sense of physical and mental abilities.
The superior intellectual abilities of Savants, or of people with Asperger's Syndrome, despite being surprising, can not be used for useful purposes as would scientific research, since they are only able to memorize and process information, what machines do for us, and for scientific research you need imagination, reasoning, understanding, communication, and deduction. Autistic skills acquire utility in other applications as they would be, art, music, and literature. All of us can be as intelligent as we want or until we find limitations, but the intellectual capacity, and the academic dedication of someone depends directly on the environment of their upbringing in the first years of life, the resources at their disposal, and the support of their families.

There are "normal" people who, unlike the previous ones, do not have any preparation at an early age, resources, or support, and do not have any type of syndrome, but then, in indeterminate moments of their lives, they discover that they are capable of performing a or several tasks exceptionally like mathematical calculations, music, art, among others. These people are known as Gifted, and they occupy, as do people with Asperger's Syndrome or Sage, a tiny portion of the human population. This type of skills, specifically that of the Gifted, which are manifested by something of genes, intrigue many people in the world as well as me, and makes me ask, Are the Gifted deserving of their different abilities? Gifted competitive advantage with other people ?, In addition to intrigue, this issue of the gifted and their genes cause concern, because, if we imagine that some scientist, one day discovers the gene that causes giftedness, then in the future someone will try to market it and with it will cause that the success of the people only is limited to the children of the wealthy ones, because only they will be able to buy those genes for theirs.
We must bear in mind that, the fact that autistic people can not do certain things that we do, does not mean that they are inferior; in extremist countries people with degenerative disorders or any other disability illness are excluded and condemned to remain excluded during their relatively short life; caused by unknown factors that decrease the life time of an autistic person, less than half of that of an average person; the total exclusion of people with disabilities is not fair, because nobody has the right to the life of another, and our way of collaborating to avoid being part of this group of people who exclude and discriminate, is not doing so, we are all equal before the law and before god.
Thanks for reading!
Wow! @hevictor!
You have taught me so much about autism than I actually knew. I must admit when a disease doesn't directly affect us we tend not to care so much about it. This postsis has changed my mindest aboutso many opinions/ perspectives I had before.
Lovely content!
I'm very happy that you liked my post ;) ... that's right, that's the intention, to inform about this mental condition
