The Lightning Talks in Hall G are generally always a good idea to attend, especially for not-quite-techies and newcomers, to get an impression of all the projects that are present at the congress, as some of them might inspire participation.
Basically every attendee can apply in the wiki for a 5 minute slot. Here a team member of BigchainDB talks about possible ways to reward artists in the future via "the blockchain":
