Saving emergency information on our phones

I made a discovery today on my . I discovered under settings an emergency information setting under accounts that permits one to save emergency information that can be used by people to contact your family and also know a few things about you including your address, blood group, medical details etc.

Given the fact that almost everybody who uses a smartphone always sets up lock systems that prevent others from gaining access to their phones. This is not a bad thing but could be very detrimental in cases where one is involved say in an accident and there is no identification document found on the person and on picking up the person's phone it is password protected.

In this case, if the person had filled and saved this emergency information, then the first aider just needs a click on emergency call on the lock screen to access this information without any need to unlock the phone. I don't think I had this setting in my previous smartphone. I only came across this today and I really liked it. Life is so unpredictable and one never knows what happens in the next hour. Such information can come in handy in critical scenarios.
