I believe intermittent fasting has to do with you fasting at regular intervals or span. This implies you are able to start and stop fasting at some required time.

From my perspective, I believe the Muslims and Christians makes use of this method of fasting has it has to do with eating and drinking at a prescribed time.

As a Muslim, we are commanded to fast for a month every year which is always 29-30 days depending on when the crescent is sighted. Also, there are some certain people whom are not obliged to fast due to their condition or state of health. Islam embraces fasting to those who are very capable of fasting.

When it comes to Christianity, I once heard from a Christian that their pastors determines the time of fast depending on the type of church you attend. The duration of the fast is mostly determined by their leaders.

Why will I Recommend Intermittent Fasting to someone?

Most health practitioners are of the view that one of the best ways to stay healthy is to fast at least once a week. A scholar once said "Your health is determined by what you take in or consume". This implies that sometimes we develop some certain health problems due to the kind of food you consume. One of the best ways of avoiding such problems is to engage in fasting.

As a Muslim, we do engage in intermittent fasting for 29- 30 days and I can confidently tell you that I was able to feel it's positive effect on my health apart from loosing fat and weight.

Another great advantage is that, the digestive system also requires some time to rest or fallow which can make it work at it's maximum potential and one of the best ways of achieving this is to engage in fasting. Fasting has alot of benefits which can't be mentioned completely unless you take part in the act.

What will be it benefit?

I have listed some of it's benefits if you went through the post carefully. I will just make some short list about it health benefits for easy summarization.

1)Weight Loss

2) Reduction in Fat

3) Improvements in body digestive system

4) Brain improvement

5) Protect one from some certain diseases.

What would be it's precautions?

This is a very important question which most people fasting ignore most times.

There are some great precautions to be observed when fasting.

It is always advisable to break your fast with date palm, if you can't find date palm make use of water and then fruits comes next provided you have. This is recommended because while you were fasting, you never drank nor ate anything which has a great effect on your intestine and body system. Health practitioners recommend every fasting individual to abstain from drinking cold drinks or water for breaking their fast because it may have severe or adverse effect in the body system. Most people fasting do make the mistake of breaking their fast with cold drinks or water because they felt very thirsty and this is something to be avoided.

Another precaution is to make sure you consume something before fasting. This is very important because you feel very weak if you don't have anything in your stomach before fasting. If you don't feel like eating before fasting, drink water alone and continue your fast. Some people have the habit of not consuming any food or water for several days in the name of fasting. I don't think this kind of act is encouraging because it is like you want to drive a car without petrol or diesel. The petrol or diesel powers up the car just as food and water powers up the body. Always make sure you eat and drink before fasting.

Another precaution is to know the nature of your body system. We are not created equal and we can never be the same in terms of some aspect. Some people body system does not support fasting and it could turn out to be dangerous if they engage in such act. You can fast when your body system supports it. But if you are afflicted with sickness or ursar or you are very old, please refrain from fasting if you are not energetic to fast.

I will conclude by enabling us to be more compassionate to others who don't have food because whenever we fast, we also experience what these poor or suffering people are also experiencing and this enables us to know what they are really going through in terms of body weakness and other health related problems.
