Laws Of Emotions..... The Crazy Scientist Thesis

in #life7 years ago (edited)

This is just me rambling around with the knowledge of physics and science i have stored in that box-head of mine, and i am guessing we could name it The Sir Hamzeto's Law of Emotion. If you are used to me writing poetry or other random stuffs, cosset with me while i  connect with my science background a bit. Lets hope i don't get confused with what may be a huge parallelism.

As we are all aware of, Sir Isaac Newton came up and proposed laws that covers motion of object and bodies and the forces that act upon them. Can u see the way i gave myself this brief title Sir, shared with one of the greatest minds in history(halts to relish in this brief fantasy). Back to the matter at hand, Sir Isaac Newton proposed the Laws of Motion with its basis from whats called the Classical or Newtonian Mechanics. This Laws explain the motion of objects which are idealized as single point masses but fail to fully explain the motion of microscopic bodies, well that's why we have the need for Relative Physics and Quantum Mechanics. Let me leave the rest of the details for the hardcore physicists and engineers. That's just the mainstream crux of the matter.

So the Newton Laws goes as follows:

First law: The velocity of an object remains constant unless an external force acts upon the object.
Second law: The acceleration a of a object is parallel and directly proportional to the net force F and inversely proportional to the mass m, i.e., F = ma.
Third law: The mutual forces of action and reaction between two objects are equal, opposite and co-linear. This is also shown as, “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”

I reckon that since Sir Newton was one of the few greatest minds in the world, I could implement these laws into the domain of emotions, and emotions have a very correlated to VELOCITY. They are a quantity with direction(vectors) that keeps us in balance in our daily lives. We have uniform emotions, constant emotions, or emotions that can change directions and magnitude much like velocity. We can have people whose emotions are constantly changing(Bipolar and Crazy People). Events that happens in our lives are likened to FORCES and these things can cause a change in our emotions. ACCELERATION is the rate of change of velocity, so as the predilection for good or bad to happen is the rate of change of our emotions.

So i present to you, the Laws of Emotion.

First Law : The emotions of an individual remains constant while in a distinct state of mind unless acted upon by an external incident or event.

Lets assume you are feeling down and sad about anything, maybe a breakup, as long as you remain in that frame of mind of regrets and self pity, your emotions will be stuck at a constant except if one of the two things happen; Either you consciously change the state of your mind, get things to distract you such as work, watch movies, etc and think about happier things or an external incident comes into play, something so merry that forces your emotions to change, eg you meet a new person, become rich, get a salary bump or get a present. As such when a happy incident comes with this magnitude, its knocks off the sad emotions from a person.

Similarly, when you are happy and content, lets say for instance you have been given a raise or a promotion at work. As long as you stay in that frame of mind that this promotion or raise given to you was a great thing, you will still remain happy. But as soon as you start looking over to your coworker who got a better promotion or a bigger raise with envy and discontent, your emotions changes from happy to sad.

Second Law: The proclivity for a person to encounter certain emotions over and over again is proportional to the frequent thoughts in their mind and events that follow up.

This a similarity to the preposition that You are What You Think. A person who repeatedly thinks negative thoughts about himself/herself, others or situations has the more chance of meeting negative incidents/events and will have the mentality of a sad and gloomy person. Similarly a person who thinks positively about himself/herself , others and events has a more chance of meeting positive incidents and has the general mentality of a happy and elated person. This is the law that shows how a rich person can be miserable and a poor person can be happy. A poor person can be happy if he or she is satisfied with what they have and are hopeful about their future while a rich person can be sad and miserable when they are having negative thoughts and are dissatisfied with their lives.

Third Law : For every emotion expressed by an individual, there is an equal emotion expressed in relation to them.

This is a law that occurs in most relationships, i don't mean only romantic relationships but the relationship between humans. I am proposing that when one is in a relationship with another, be it a friend, girlfriend, or family, etc, the emotions that is expressed towards an individual through actions are the emotions he/she reciprocates back. For example, if you are constantly happy and elated around someone(i mean real happiness and jolly), there is this tendency that the person will be happy around you. If you are always sad and gloomy, i bet you they will also be sad and gloomy around you. If you are very rude and nasty to the waiter serving you food, he/she will be rude and nasty to the food they serve and spit on it. We, Human relationships is a tenuous give and take of emotions.

So Guys, do you think that these laws can be executed on to our relationships and emotions?

Hello Sir @hamzeto

halts to relish in this brief fantasy

I may not really flowed with the post but I am just glad you were brave enough to outside your lane.

We will not really know what we are capable of until we push ourselves.

Happy Independence Bro and have a nice day.

@ogochukwu

Thanks for the honest opinion, I appreciate it and will keep moving forward

Calculating emotions would make for some awesome calculations :)
This is an undervalued post, wish I'm a whale to correct that. Keep steeming.

Thanks I appreciate urs already

You welcome

@hamzeto This is a great post, and I would imagine required lots of thought to formulate. I like how you think, because I analyze things in a similar way! I tried to upvote, but it wouldn't let me (perhaps I used up all mine for the day ...?) Anyway, great share!

Reading it is very much appreciated and thanks a lot for that
