Making house for chicks
Since I graduated and served my country, I have not being able to get a job so I started doing little farm business which I use to sustain myself. Recently I wrote a post of my snail rearing here where i shared how I started it. Snail business is a long term thing because it takes six months for the babies to grow into adult. But they have started laying eggs which is a progress in it.
I thought of another farm business which is local chicken rearing. Local chickens are easy to Rear and has a very low cost of feeding, they go about and eat what they see but they have to be monitored especially their chicks because of snakes and eagles which will like to tale them as meal. Because of these preys, I decided to make a small house where I will hide the hen and the chicks.
I will share pictures and steps of how I made the house.
Before doing anything at work, I listen to music. Music makes my work faster.
I started by cutting bamboo tress, cost efficient.
I cut the bamboos into required sizes
I used an abandoned room which was used to rear pigs. My aim was to use the bamboo tress to make the room taller and cover the top with sack to prevent snakes and eagles.
