Dance your way to health!
I'm so serious, seriouser than serious, dancing will make you healthy..... now alcohol consumption while dancing may not...
For the past couple years, or so, I have made dancing a weekly ritual, if circumstances permit me to go. Kids, would you get a load of these guys....
But on a serious note, it is a great cardio workout, burn 200 to 500 calories easy. Especially if you like to start and not stop for at least an hour. Drop it low to work those quads ;)
Benefits of cardio exercise:
Weight loss
Stronger heart and lungs
Increased bone density
Reduced stress
Reduced risk of heart disease and some types of cancer
Temporary relief from depression and anxiety
More confidence about how you feel and how you look
Better sleep
More energy
Setting a good example for your kids to stay active as they get older

You hear about Zumba and Jazzercise, this is a similar concept except a little more free, and easier to commit to for some. You know who you are!
Let's be honest, a Treadmill and Elliptical are very boring ways to get your cardio in, even with a digital path to look at, on a fancier set up.
It's a great way to socialize with your friends in a fun environment which is good for mood elevation!!
Swedish researchers, writing in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, studied 112 teenage girls who were struggling with problems including neck and back pain, stress, anxiety, and depression. Half of the girls attended weekly dance classes, while the other half didn't. The results? The girls who took the dance classes improved their mental health and reported a boost in mood—positive effects that lasted up to eight months after the classes ended. See full article
Now let me make this very clear, I am not promoting a "party" lifestyle. This is not about going out to get high like a G6. I am sharing an experience I find enjoyable and stress relieving, it is about dancing your heart out!
Tonight is one of those nights, with some girl friends joining me, we get to catch up on our week, or a few depending on how busy we have been.
And to be honest this will be a second workout for today. Having done a quick circuit this morning, easy burn of 500 cals, and now to set my night to at least another 200.
Give it a try....This means I can have ice cream....right?....
No, it doesn't mean I get ice cream. Adding the extra 207 calories on average won't help if your goal is weight loss or maintaining your already attained goal weight! (Good for you!!)
It's Satuday night! Call up some friends and get out of the house! Keep the alcohol out of it and you will save big on your night out, not just cash but your health too!
Shred up the dance floor!
Happy Dancing and don't forget to hydrate! ;)
