Big fire of hay bales in Okocim
Firefighting action of hay lasting 27 hours
September 2, 2017. At about 2:45 AM a large fire was observed in the area of the farm in Okocim at Goetz Okocimskich Street. When it was discovered that a huge straw stack of 6 meters high was being burned and a cowshed in which over 100 cows were in danger.
Activities lasting more than 27 hours ended on 3 September at 6:42 AM, with 25 firefighters (including 3 from our unit) and 103 firefighters (including 12 of us):
3x Brzesko PSP, 2x Jadowniki, 2x Dębno, Szczepanów, Okocim, Poręba, Jasień, Uszew, Wokowice, 2x JRG Tarnow and tanker from Tarnow.
When it came to the place, it turned out that the fire spread very quickly. The fire extinguished the very strong wind. However, due to the rapid intervention of emergency services, fire was not allowed to continue.
The witness reports that about 130 rounds of logs burned down. Fire and smoke were seen from several kilometers.
The participation time of the Fire Brigade of Jadowniki is as follows:
- GBARt 2.5 / 16 Mercedes worked on the site from 3:00AM to 9:00PM next day
- GCBA 6/32 Jelcz from 3:14AM to 10:16PM
- The Ford GLM was used to transport equipment and lifeguards for replacement
