Last week I made the Better than Sex homemade body butter. Today I made this sensual Black Orchid body butter with the 3D black orchid body butter container. The 3D body butter container I actually made few days ago. I will be explaining the 3D tutorial of the Black Orchid container in my next post.

The ingredients

50% Shea butter
20% Mango butter
10% Beeswax
10% Coconut oil

4% Avocado oil
4% Jojoba oil

1% Tapioka starch
1 Vitamin E capsule
1 Tsp Black Orchid fragrance oil

Step 1

Disinfect first a small pan and a spoon for stirring. Add all solid butters/oils in the pan.

Shea butter

Mango butter

Beeswax

This beeswax is bleached. They sell also unbleached but the unbleached is yellow, contains propolis and pollen so less suitable for cosmetics. Especially when you want to make white body butter, the yellow colour is just not so nice looking.

Coconut oil

I use odourless coconut oil because if you want to use fragrance that doesn't go well with the coconut smell, you don't want to have coconut smell in your body butter. The normal coconut oil has a very strong coconut smell.

Turn your gas stove on the lowest fire, or when you have an electric one like mine, on 1 or 2. Keep stirring for a about 20 minutes until all butters/oil are melted. You can take a few breaks in between. You can see that beeswax melted the last. You can also melt the beeswax first and after 10 minutes add the Shea butter, mango butter and coconut oil. I just did it like this.

After 20 minutes, remove the pan and leave it for a 5 minutes cooling off a bit. Now the Avocado oil, Jojoba oil, Vitamin E and Black Orchid fragrance oil can be added. Stirr well.

After you stirred it well, you can leave the pan, covered with kitchen paper in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
After 1 hour you can take it out and add the Tapioka starch. Keep stirring for 10 minutes.

Now you can take a container you like. I made my own body butter container with a 3D printer ;-). 3D printed stuff are not 100% watertight, so I had to put a small piece of plastic foil before I put the body butter inside the container.

Shake it a bit so bubbles will go away and it will be fairly distributed. It looks still like body lotion instead of body butter here, but after a few hours, it turned hard. Which is what we want because otherwise we can not call it body butter.

I really love the smell of this Black Orchid body butter. I am not so good in describing perfume smells but I will try. It kinda smells like a luxury sensual woman perfume. It can be placed in the category of: Thierry Mugler- Alien, Gucci-Rush, Georgio Armani- Si and so on. If you know these smells, which are my kinda perfumes too, you will probably know how this body butter smells.
