We shall be considering some uses of statistics.
Everything around revolves round statistics. Most of us talks about probability during our day to day activities. Probability is a full subsidiary of statistics.

Statistics always takes the assumption of normality.

Therefore, I will state few areas where statistics is being use:
1. Household: We make use of statistics in our household dealings. As house wife cooking a meal uses statistics to know the measurement of salt to use, she took a sample of the whole an added instead of adding a whole satchel of salt. When tasting a soup, you are not expected to drink the whole pot of soup rather you stir the soup and draw a small portion (sample) which will justify the whole (population).

2. Selection of Leader: This is a process that highly requires statistics.Everyone has equal chance of being selected but not everyone will be selected. Since a leader has to be selected, some facts and factors are put into consideration. Factors like, age, previous achievement, previous post held and so much more. This are done statistically and it easily helps in the selection process.

3. Clinical trial/Medical: This is one major aspect where statistics is highly used. The measurement for prescription of drugs given to patient uses statistics that's why there is a difference between the medical practitioners and the traditional practitioners. A herb given to a sick fellow doesn't have measurement while a paracetamol given to a sick fellow is measures based on some circumstances surrounding the fellow. If there is overdose of the drugs then something else happens and that why statistics have to help in regulating.

4. Traffic control: Traffic light make use of statistics. It uses numerical analysis to judge in control of traffic. The influx of vehicular movement around an area are considered using statistics analysis before programming the flow of vehicles in either directions of the road.

5. Sport: This is necessary for prediction and judgement. The outcome of a match can be predicted to a 98% expected result even without the match still unplayed. This is due to the work of statistics, data on previous matches are collected and analysis then after forecast can be made. The strength and weakness of a team can be determined using statistics.

and so much more.

Those aspects where statistics are being used are much more than the above highlighted. In the true sense of life, we use statistics in all areas of our living and breathing.
