Vlog #49: Hired @twistychips for my Steem job offer (Logo design). My first international Steem blockchain business deal!
A couple of days ago I made a blog post offering max. 250 SBD to have a logo designed for me. I wanted it to be a business deal on the blockchain.
I specifically didn't want to make it a contest because although they can be very fun it also means that a lot of people are spending time creating something that will not be used.
I asked users to send me their portfolio in a reply so I could choose someone myself without wasting anyone's time. Thanks to everyone that showed interest.
I liked @twistychips portfolio and contacted him on Steemchat.
I learned he is from China, which makes this whole experience extra fun for me because I wanted it to be a business transaction on the blockchain without a third party across the globe. And I got it! It's my first.
I also asked him when he thought the logo would be done.
lol, I was a bit foolish. He quickly taught me something about logo design.
It's a long process where he needs to know from me what I like and what I don't like. What I am going to use the logo for. What I want the logo to portray and a ton of other questions. He's going to treat this project like any other project in his daily life.
I thought he was really professional and I also understood why he said 250SBD is cheaper than normal for this service. And I can see why. It must be very time-consuming.
I think the whole process is cool and will document it from time to time on my blog.

I think the markets are probably going to trend a bit lower. It's obvious that we're in a downtrend and I haven't seen anything in the technicals that shows that we are close to breaking out. Steem is a good investment. I'm actually quite impressed with the underlying technology. Most transfers and transactions with it are done in around 3 seconds which is quite fast.
It's great to hear that you were able to hire a person to design your logo. I believe it's only a matter of time before this becomes a viable alternative to sites like Fiverr and Upwork.
I also think this downtrend is not over yet. All we can do is wait.
I actually thought the same thing too. I was actually kind of hoping that Steem would dip down again towards a $1.00 so I can pick some up.
I'm actually glad I took your advice from your Vlog a couple of posts ago not to buy in all at once into Steem. It's actually somewhat hard to time the bottom and top for the market so I have just been trying to buy some when there are dips in the price.
I think it's great you're conducting this business transaction over the block chain. Great example of the utility of Steemit and how SBDs can be utilized.
You brought a great point about "fundamentals". The fundamentals are all upside down, sideways and ass backwards nowadays and have been for quite some time in the stock market.
The "FAANG" stocks,(Facebook (FB), Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX), and Alphabet (GOOG))are what's the driving the entire market. As they go, so goes the market. It's not healthy and eventually has to correct. This same thing is happening with crypto. As goes bitcoin, so goes every other currency for the most part. The herd mentality just lumps everything together. As Steemit keeps acquiring more and more users, it will be very interesting to see what seat at the table it eventually will occupy. Users are the key to the kingdom in crypto, so I see Steemit's future being very, very bright. Only time will tell though. If I had to bet on a horse though, Steemit would be it b/c of it's usefulness.

Wouldn't that mean a third party? Or is there something like that on the blockchain already? Escrow service on the steem blockchain could be cool though! GnR was awesome btw.

Doing business on a blockchain is kind of revolutionary. This is actually the core factor of blockchain design. You're transacting without the services of a middlemen is something which a lot of people have never heard of before the advent of this whole blockchain community. I am glad that people are using this platform for business purpose as well. I'll love to be a part of this business model and will definitely try to do business transaction this platform .

Glad to see you hired designer on Steemit and started buying/selling services on blockchain without any middlemen, you have already completed blockchain transaction, what we expected will be implemented in future. Future for blockchain technologies looks very positive, just imagine how much profitable it would be, if we could buy wholesale products/services on blockchain from countries like China and India.
Doing direct business on a blockchain anywhere in the world would be cool right! The social aspect of steemit truly helps in this department finding the right persons.
