Visiting my brother and made him him a (silent) Steemian. I'm currently looking for ways to give him some ROI on his investment.
Yesterday I spend most of the day with my brother.
He's the dad of Juliet, my niece. (the owner of a little bit of bitcoin).
We always see each other at family events but rarely do we spend some quality time together.
This week he's off from work.
I drove to his place yesterday at around 12:00.
Opening the door I was greeted by Juliet!
She was over the moon!
Santa had brought her a huge Barbie Camper.
She showed it to me.
I was impressed!
For fun I told her.
"Do you know you own some bitcoin!"
She looked at me silly.
She couldn't give a rats ass :)
It made laugh.
Soon after we went for a walk to the playground.
My brother has a lot of trouble understanding where the value comes from of a STEEM token or a Bitcoin for that matter.
Therefore it must most likely be a bubble.
And from that viewpoint, it's actually understandable why one would think this.
Now, I talk about this crypto stuff almost weekly in my vlogs and think about it every single day.
For me, it's clear that it's not.
But my brother has no time to watch or read any of it. He works 60-80 hours a week and also needs time for his family.
There is therefore not much time left to really look into it. (and when you do hear about it it's probably from the news or the paper where they say it's a bubble, strengthening the believe you already had).
But we had time yesterday so, I took him through the basics here while walking.
And then slowly let him to the STEEM blockchain and why I believe it's a winner. (3 second block times, no fees, scalable, development, monetization of the Blockhain and SMT's....to name a few...)
I must have done something right because by the end of it he wanted to invest.
He bought 100 STEEM of me yesterday and we sent it to his account to start with and he wants to gradually buy some more. (the way I always buy).
Pretty cool stuff.
I don't think he will ever blog (no time). But at least he's on the blockchain now :)
I'm currently looking for ways to give him some ROI on his investment.
If you have any suggestions let me know.
I am a witness with our developer group @blockbrothers for the Steem blockchain. If you want to support us I would appreciate your vote here.
We build Steemify a notification app for your Steemit account for iOS.
Get it Here:
haha great, the more people here the better!
I love visits to my cousins and friends places and where I either tell them about the block chain or about bitcoin itself , since they are not aware of it , it feels good to educate them .
If he delegates his SP to you he will get a ROI right? I'm not sure about how it works. If not he could just come on Steemit occasionally (once a week or something) and upvote a few posts he likes. Even if he just leaves it in SP and does nothing he will earn a small amount of interest.
Nice way to spend the holidays... You can inform your brother about Steem delegation, which will make him earn even without blogging. Glad to see he is finally convinced to invest in Steem.
I was thinking about minnowbooster as an easy ROI for the non blogger/investor.
yes minnowbooster is quite professional and various options available for ROI based return.
yup there are many many bots these days 😂 upvote bots
Yes, minnowbooster is best way for non blogger/investor to earn ROI. Also, I believe there is another one called Utopian. I used MB for a few months and works very well. Just make sure to "unvest" your shares once contract is up b/c it doesn't automatically, you have to manually by delegating 0 at end of term.
Yeah I think this is easiest method also.
At least he's here, my Brother is very stubborn!
Lmao hahaha 😂
Hi @exyle It so sweet of you that you care for your brother and his family. I agree, minnowbooster and steem delegation for a busy dad like him. And once in a while when you visit them, try to convince him to post a short blog, and you can inform us and I'm willing to help by upvoting his post, and I'm sure many of your followers will do the same. Who knows one day, when he chose to retire from work, he will have more time steeming.
Glad to hear that one more intelligent person joined steemit our family ! 😍 good work boss @exyle
People lacking time to do the research and getting involved is probably one of the biggest problems for a broader adoption of crypto. It's pretty sad at the same time because these people (like your brother) are working their lives away and thus losing a big portion of the time they can spend with their children and loved ones. I'm so grateful crypto has shown me a way out.
another one into this great platform.. some people you want to invest to explain... but for a lot I don't.. my daughter @creatisa (12)doesn't ask questions were the money comes from so that was an easy extra user on this platform.. she already made het fist posts
That’s cool. I always wonder what this all will be like when our kids grow up.
See, kids ask a lot of questions every time. But questions which keeps adults busy seem to not bother them. They just accept things as is. I really don't understand why everyone steps into a car without them knowing how every bolt and wire is connected but with money, it seems the whole world wants to trace it back down to when the earth was created.
way to go to be an advocate! :) nice work. it's a funny one right, so clearly it's an EDUCATION gap where people like the comfort of a 60/80 hour week and don't spend any creative time to research other ways to live, it's like it's a tried and tested model so they stick to it. i personally can't live that life when i know blockchains exist now :)
Mark, you already do good work by post interesting blogs; now you also stand up as a speaksmen for STEEMIT.
We all try to spread information and indeed in many cases it is hard to explain (not a matter of convince) how it works, but when they get it, they are immdiately enthousiastic and would like to be involved into the crypto's. And when it is on STEEMIT, we did a very good job. Lets build the community even much bigger.
Your question how to help your brother to have some ROI.
I would suggest, because it will sure bring joy and fun; take the family for a day out to a nice park (Efteling); and make it a special momnt and share good memories together. When the children have fun in a ride; you have time to have a chat about crypto in your(s) life.
Oh yeah, it's great news that your brother has also joined our ecosystem and I am sure that you will correctly instruct him how to conduct business on the Steemit . From myself, I advised your brother if he does not have enough time, it is better to rent out the SP, of course, this is a simple but stable income! Thank you Mark and keep us informed of what's happening!
