RUMINATIONS

@ stevescoins said Just Write and I agree whole heartedly.

That is what my Rumination posts are. I Don't have a COW, I just lay back, chew my cud, (or in my case smoke a cigar) and contemplate the world we live in.

CRAZY. I can't see how, from reading history or following the 'news'media, how anyone can say with a straight face that humanity is sane? They sure don't act like it. (Note I din't say WE. I don't have any control hence I'm not responsible. NOT my fault)

PoliTicks (from one of them old dead languages) Poly means many. Ticks are blood sucking parasites. Logically then Poly Ticks means many bloodsuckers. Vampires.

It would appear that the current election in the US lives down to that reputation. In the half century since I've become politically aware I can't recall a less desirable collection of filth running for orifice. How bout we call the election off ? Can we have a do over? How bout we follow the example of Spain?

Language. Selection and use of words. Words mean things. No...I mean they REALLY have a specific meaning. For example consider the word murder Murder means unlawful killing. Pretty simple right? You'd think that would be easily understood? No? The anti-abortionist use the word Murder when speaking of abortion. It's not. Abortion is legal therefore it's NOT unlawful. How hard is that? Abortion is definitely killing though.

Which leads me to consider. Why do people willfully misuse words? There are several possibilities. They might not not know what the word means? That would be an example of ignorance. They might not think their listeners know what it means? That would mean they are deceitful? I'm sure there are a number of other reasons, none of them good.

Well crap. That posted unintentionally. I wasn't finished.
Which suggest another option.
I think I'll jus continue to add bullet points to this post until it times out.

Posting My earlier post today on my serialized novel hasn't been doing well at all. Some days the votes pour in. I've had fifty or sixty votes within the first hours. Other days....nothing. Today is one of THOSE days. I wish I could figure out what the difference is.

Movies I watched several episodes of Luke Cage on NetFlicks last night. I was surprised and delighted to discover that it was VERY good. I'm going to continue watching it. I recommend it highly.

Alarmism Hurricane Matthew, Globull Wurming, OverPopulation, Vaccinations, the list goes on and on. Chicken little meet the boy who cried wulf. The lamestream news isn't happy unless they are attempting to scare the public. Raise awareness I think is the current buzzword. I've concluded that they must hate themselves and thus project their feelings . (I can't really blame them in that regard. I hate them too). The lame stream, and the awareness raisers seem to hate humanity.

watch this space, I'll add more in the next 24 hrs. Comments are welcome. Let's start a conversation.

Logical Fallacies Don't enter into an argument without them. Or at least it appears that way.

Sort:

Oh, I get it, ruminations. Ha,ha,ah...good one!

I've been watching Luke Cage too, but I'm really struggling to dislike cottonmouth. I can't help but like him. He's smart, enterprising, loyal, but conflicted and nuanced. He's offering a product to willing customers and profiting. I just don't see how he's the bad guy.

was he involved in the shakedowns (protection racket) for political contributions?

Yeah good point. I've watched on and he's just pulled some nasty crap. He's a bastard after all.

update: I just watched a few more episodes
Poor old cottonmouth.
More plot twists than a pretzel.

Haha ... first time I have read any of your posts ... thoroughly enjoyed it..definite follow !

Thanks for the shout out!

As far as the response to your serialized novel, are you publishing at about the same time for each one? If you have a steady set of readers, they may be more inclined to see the story, and thus respond, if it is published at the time that they are on.

The only bad thing about Steemit is that time factor...publish outside the time window, and lose upvotes...but how do you KNOW what the correct window is?

Good idea. I'll see what I can do.
perhaps 'noonish' daily?

That's the hard part...I ^think^ there was a post about two weeks that gave a breakdown on the times of day with the highest user activity...but, the thing is, that may not reflect your own reader base.

I would do an experiment by posting in a given category consistently at the same time for a week, then change the time another week, and see if there is a difference.

IF I were disciplined,I would be logging my posting stats to look for patterns. But I'm lazy in that regard.

I think that for people that are serious about making a living here, they need to keep these things in mind.

Good luck!

You just put your finger on something else that could use some improvement. Finding stuff.
