RE: Anarchist No More?

in #life6 years ago

There is similar talk here in my country and the representatives of the people are blamed for the personal misery, but I can only see that those in government are basically fulfilling the will of the people. I think it is underestimated how many people actually support what is decided politically and put on the agenda. An example: While we good citizens all want to protect the environment, the first Member who publicly proposes paying five euros for a litre of petrol would still commit political suicide. To do without one's car is probably quite demanding of people after it developed over such a long time as a status symbol of freedom and mobility.
Just as rarely do I see a form of willingness to stop taking holiday flights. Everyone wants to fly on holiday. In fact, this seems to be the will of the people. Politicians revolve around where the strongest wind blows.

You have come a long way, you have experienced and seen a lot and yet you have not gained the freedom of thought that you are always as much a victim as you think you are a winner?

In this matter, we are all reasonably caught up in it. Politicians and companies alike are sitting on the consequences, which extend long before their time to the present day. These are true colossuses, whose dismantling can only take place slowly and with a lot of willpower. Trade and money are thousands of years old and what once began simply has increased in complexity, so that existing structures, habits, laws are truly gigantic.

Technological progress has a similar number of disadvantages in addition to its advantages. This includes the bureaucratic effort caused by rules and laws aimed at making it as safe as possible for everyone. This security can only be achieved and maintained with great effort.

Politicians are not very brave people, because the people themselves are actually rather adaptation artists. The people reflect their leadership to a high degree.

Change comes in any case. Whether through design or disaster remains to be seen. In the meantime, I'm acting like I'm already living in a post-growth economy and leading a modest existence.

I see you've strayed from radical anarchism. There is also a form of serenity and realism in your words that I find appealing. Every concept of life has both sunny and dark sides. Unfortunately, not everything good can be combined and one has to live with things that one does not like.

Sort:

I don't know. All kinds of power tend to corrupt. I am quite a skeptic of everything these days, I feel like it's always about self-interest. Though I'm pretty sure that I'm wrong.

You have come a long way, you have experienced and seen a lot and yet you have not gained the freedom of thought that you are always as much a victim as you think you are a winner?

My society conditioned me to become a victim. Centuries-old of that type of conditioning can be hard to overcome. I'll try to make it, just like what the system tells everyone. I won't have to beat myself up though.

Every concept of life has both sunny and dark sides. Unfortunately, not everything good can be combined and one has to live with things that one does not like.

Thank you so much for this comment that is overloading with the truth.
