More or less useful gifts...
Buying gifts for others is quite difficult. Especially, when you don't know him or her well. I know I prefer useful gifts and not just a thing or two to put on a shelf as a dust collector.
So making or buying a gift for adults is one thing, but if you are buying a gift for a newborn baby for the first time, and you do not know what to bring, I can give you a hint or two from first hand.
This one I made for a baby boy and his parents. I used a package of diapers, a small book, and an envelope with the congratulation card inside. The diapers are rolled and tied together around the empty cardboard paper roll holder in three levels.
"Thank you, but we really do not need anything."
Does that sound familiar? If you also get this answer, you would still like to bring something, there are some tips for easier purchase:
You can't miss anything if you bring diapers (unless they use washable) or other baby care products, like cotton diapers.
Even gift cards for children's shops are always the right choice.
The toddler usually has too many toys. The parents really don't want to have a full flat of cheap plastic and plush toys.
Clothes: the best as simple as possible, so bodies or pants. Not the smallest size, because the baby will overgrow them before you come to visit. Also, figure out what season will be when it will be right for a toddler.
Please do not buy cute caps that come with the clothes, because they are just cute and that's all!
Even pacifiers and bottles are not the best gift because they are not needed by all children, but even if they need them, they can be very picky about the shapes and sizes. 😉
Children's books, as well as books on nursing, baby nutrition, are among the desirable gifts.
Ahh, I don't know who complicates more. But still, if you want to bring something than really think twice what. Maybe the best is to bring something for mother and the father, the little one has always everything. ;)
This one I made for the first time parents and their little girl. Diapers, a soft sensory book, soft rattle in the shape of the tiger, a small cream and a bottle of baby oil. Simple to make, but quite useful.
What kind of gifts do you prefer?
The first photo is made by me and my smartphone Samsung A5 and is meant for @juliank #smartphonephotography contest, the other two are also made by me, but with my Nikon COOLPIX P510.
Its really a more usefull gifts
:)
It's really nice and useful gift......basicallly i prefer just useful gifts....your thinking just awasome....very nice post...
Thank you.
welcom sir.
You have done a very great job by making this gift hamper. Its very tough job when you have to buy gift for someone, specially if the gift for a new born baby. Its quite tough to find any thing for them.I used to buy a very common gift for any new born baby. That is a johnsons baby gift pack, which contains some toiletries for the baby. But now you have made a very nice gift pack. You relieved us from a regular problem.Thank's a lot to you.@upvoted
Thank you, I'm glad you find my post useful! I did try to be a little unique. And I just know, that anyone these gifts aren't so expensive, but still, they can be very personal. Depends on what do you like or you think they will like. You can easily merge together more of the items, and get an awesome gift.
Now, when girls are a bit older I just know, that there is never enough books, coloring books, quality paints. But there are two things I really don't like for presents - kinetic sand and play dough. It is nice and boosts their imagination, but in the summer, when they can play outside. For a winter gift that is a big NO. :)
I think you put yourself mind to doing it and that is far more appreciated than any other gift. Thanks
Oh really... It's easy... You just need a few items, as described before, and a little imagination. If you need more inspiration, then try browsing through the web with search code "diaper cake". You will see, that there is no limit. :)
Wow, I will give it a try when am less busy. Thanks

Ahh buying gifts sometimes is very tough. Especially for me... lol
I just love to give and get useful gifts that will be used. :D
:) I know. I hate shopping, so this is very difficult for me... Although it's easy when the person eats and drinks everything. Then a basket of goodies can be the easy way out. The problem is when you want to give something healthy... :)
haha yea and most don't like that for a gift. lolol
Love this! Such awesome ideas! I would never have thought of it like this but you're so right, I'll definitely bear this in mind the next time a friend has a new arrival!
Thank you very much! I just love when someone finds my advice useful. As I saw you are a professional photographer making a gift like mine won't be a problem. At least you would make a better photo of it in the end. ;)
Haha well you did a great job all the same! I'm not sure daiper photographer is in my skillset anyway! You're most welcome, really enjoyed it, super handy!
You never know until you try.😉 Thank you again.
Hello @emmamia: your suggestion of the package of diapers, a book, and the congratulation card seems perfect to me and I say it from my own experience, those were my favorite gifts, for my girls, when they were just born ... with our first daughter, my wife and I had a book that was very important, for us, because it gave us advice on how to take care of our baby in case of ... the book was very important for us. Greetings.
How nice to read that there are parents out there who cherish useful gifts. With your comment, I realize even more that I' m doing the right thing.
Be assured that you are doing the right thing. Very interesting your post. Greetings @emmamia
That is great thinking, really something useful, for the parents and the child. And so much better because you've put it together yourself, not just bought the first child gift package you see. I always have a tough time thinking what to get people for a present. And they do actually look a little like cakes :)
They are caked. Google it, and you will see all the endless possibilities. 😉 Buying gifts for others is hard, especially if you don't know them well. But with the babies, you just can't miss with things written above.
Great gifts! Good job :)
Thanks.
