Values
Values are beliefs about what is right and wrong and what is considered important in life.
Values are what we place premium on, what we hold in esteem, subscribe to in life or consider very important to us.
There are different kinds of values: moral, spiritual, social, cultural, traditional, ethical,etc.
In an ever-changing world, some of our core values have been jettisoned and replaced by borrowed ideas and practices.
All over the world, the young have a completely different set of values and expectations. While the older people refer to the good old days and clamour for a return to traditional values in education, firm discipline and moral rectitude, the young believe in what is in Vogue and not what is already past.
Proper and right values should be inculcated the younger generation. When enduring and inestimable value such as respect for elders, humility, contentment are taught and demonstrated, he or she would grow up with such and practise same.
